Yes we must not sleep under the trees at night as they release carbondioxide.
Yes, I also think.
I think, every living things need rest....not only animals :P
Yes i have noticed it too ..they look more fresh and bright during day time and look dull at night time.. They are like humans..
Plants do sleep at night. During night, the photosynthesis proces ceases and only respiration takes place. The glucose which is prepared in the plant during the day time is rapidly transported to various plant parts and is stored there. The walls of the guard cells collapse due to reduced osmotic pressure and the stomata gets closed.

Gowri is back as a zoology student she explained well.

Nicely presented here.

i was not aware of the fact that she is a teacher of botany.so if i will have any query regarding botany or terms related to it i will now ask her. :)
Plants also has life like humans they also need rest so they take rest just like us when sun is out of there.
Plants doesn't sleep in night they take oxygen and release carbon dioxide in night..........................

That's the reason we say it that they are sleeping so that people can stay away from them at night. :)
Plant cannot stop or Sleep. And they stop photosynthesis process because at night there is no Sunlight as it require most..........
Plants are as much living as human being, they feel, sleep, enjoy, breath and cry like normal human being.
The science found that plants will talk to other plants just like humans. I had seen this programme in discovery channel.

I heard abt it too but never seen them talking anytime
Yes Plants do sleep at nights. They take test on that time.
yes, plants sleep at night, they start sleeping after 6. thats why people say not sleep under the tree at night as plants release carbondioxide at that time
Yes plants not only sleep at night but the feel disturbed as well like human. I still remember my mother who used to say that never pluck a fruit or flower as plants are like living creatures who might get disturbed.

Yes I too was told that !Apparently, Plants do sleep at night or after sunset since they begin the process of photosynthesis, which is making food that gets stored in various parts of the plant. However, they still continue with the process of respiration...
Yes,we should not pluck any plant in night also. It is not good.
