What is the difference between sin and mistake. I suppose that and unintentional and inadvertent offence is mistake, which can be forgiven. When the offence is deliberate, this needs corrective action or punishment.

Well, in opinion, sin is the thing which cannot be rectified and mistake is the thing which can be rectified. So if a person commit a sin then he should not be forgive.if it is a mistake, then we can forgive that person.
