Phonetically OK is easier to pronounce in English as well as non-English spoken countries.Unarguably Ok or Okay is considered as the abbreviation of 'All Correct' but how did it come to be? Here's a great article I found which explains how it came to be and became so popular! It is the most neutrally spoken word and it is familiar and short, it affirms action in positive way, this article is really helpful thanks.

Linguists say the aim of any language is its simplicity with effective penetration. OK is just an example.

Easy to pronounce. Easy to write. Easy to communicate . That's the purpose of a language. Those languages which do not possess these qualities have gone in to oblivion. Greek, Latin and our own Deva Bhasha Sanskrit are the examples.

This is the only word which is very popular in every country. The best way to express our peaceful agreement is to say okay as OK.

True. OK enjoys universal acceptance. Even an illiterate also uses OK.

There are also few more words like thank you, yes and no, which is understood and said by all.

Yes. Out of all, OK is the simplest, because of which it has penetrated deeply in to all the languages of the world.

Friends Ok is generally used in informal way of speaking or writing any message or letter. In case of any formal discussions or letters, OK is not used. Do you all agree with me?

Yes. I agree with you. Purists will frown if OK is used in Formal writings or Books.

Wrong, OK is an accepted word which is used in formal communications too, at least in corporate world, we use it a lot since it is a very clear and expletive confirmation of positive response.
