Really what you said is right. Using personal abuses defeats the very essence of Arguements.

In arguments when one hurls personal attack on others then it becomes worse. Friendly personal attack is fine to an extent when the other one is not feeling insulted but if someone does feel insulted then one must refrain from such arguments. Heated argument usually leaves a scar so such an argument must be avoided.

Shampa, a sensitive and a self respecting individual never gives an opportunity for anyone to be insulting. But a brazen, selfish and insensitive individual is above all , on a different wave length altogether because half the time such individuals don't understand anything else except their own greed !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

@usha manohar You are absolutely right. The self-respecting people respect others too. Naturally, they do not believe in accusing and abusing others but those who make verbal attacks unnecessarily have to be ready to face the music from the other side. Actually, this spoils the depth of any meaningful discussion which has to have some forceful arguments

An argument should take place in afriendly atmosphere and conclude too in the same atmosphere. I have seen hurling abusive and unparliamentary and dirty lingo at each other.

Some people don't like to argue..such people usually keep silent, agree with whatever an opposite person argues with but ultimately he does whatever he wants to do.-Bajirao

Well said, this is the best way to answer.

I think that is one way of Arguements .This type of argument definitely better than fist fights and Arguements with abusive lingo

An argument with substance is always welcome even if it is heated at times but, one that is purposeless because someone is trying to score a point no matter what, is far more harmful..

When we involve ourselves in arguments, we should listen to others, we may express our views on the views of others. Similarly others will express their views on our perspectives. In both the cases, the views can be argued. We should not talk about the persons. Argument is all about views, not on the persons.

Born to express, not to impress.
