Nowadays teens eat too much fast, unhealthy food, which is very fatty and drink too many sugary drinks. This leads to obesity.
Easting junk food is considered as a style statement by these future leaders and citizens of India. There by losing their precious health and still precious youth.
Well said. Teens learn from the society, from what they see. So it is duty of every individual to reduce this ailment.
The onus lies on the shoulders of the parents. They should be vigilant on the movements if the children. Above all the parents should check how the pocket money given to their children is being spent.

It goes to show that in a race to keep with modernism all that the new age parents have achieved is to bring up an unhealthy population where the basic nutritional needs have been sacrificed and monetary and other frivolous issues have been given more importance ! What a pity !
Yes. its a race to keep pace with Modernism. Today's youth think holding a Coke in one hand and smoking is a style statement.. What a criminal wastage of youth power !!!
It is parents who are to be blamed..as parents, they should sacrifice on certain beverages such as coke to set the right example for their children. Smoking is mostly taken up by peer pressure...which am sure can be again controlled by parents and good teachers.

In fact, parents are more to blame. They are also easy going and do not wish to take trouble in preparing healthy food. They also adopt short cuts in food as well. So children go for fast food too often. Many parents- especially office going- also take patties, burger in lunch.

If one takes the trouble even a sandwich can be nutritious so can be a burger ...It is any day better than chips and biscuits. The least one can do is to include a salad as part of the meal since most people like salads and it balances out any lack in the food prepared.I have seen some families cooking only rice and fish curry or mutton/chisken curry ! No vegetables at all. They may take some curds which is so imabalanced .

Good habits or bad habits start from the home. They grow if the parents fail to do their duty. They are curtailed if the parents are vigilant.

Of course parents are more to be blamed. In another angle, in current scenario parents both of them are required to be employed to run life peacefully. In this situation they don't get more time to spend with their children. So naturally the onus falls on the society's hand. In many households, parents are not available from 8 am - 8 pm. Hardly they get any time to spend with their children after completing other daily routines.

Realizing the importance of spending more time with children, many mothers/Athers in lucrative careers are foregoing thei jobs. Parenting is full time job.

Yes. But concern is on middle class families. These mothers are forced to work to run the family.

Being a working woman is not at all an issue since if one plans home management can easily be managed with the help of all members in the family. It is this lack of proper management which is creating havoc with the family health and other negative effects within the family and society in general since they are all inter linked ..
