How many of you people are living in flats?
Now, LPG restriction is most going to affect those people. Now onwards, a flat as a whole will be considered as a single building. So 6 cylinders per year for a flat

Well, that is something! Anyone with even an iota of common sense will realize that it is an impossible thing to enforce. This is just like teasing common people!

The only scenario I can think of is when the owner of the building has not registered it in individual names and given the apartments on rent, even that sounds like an impossible situation to me...

I am afraid this has already been implemented. Now they will consider societies as complete one common entity and only 6 cylinders will be issued on subsidized rates and after that non subsidized. Because of that only many pipeline connections have been cut down because they are asking for charge equals to non subsidized gas... so people are now trying to arrange their own gas cylinders... I am one of them.. :) :)... Some societies agreed to pay and the connections already started..
Ushaji....
A lot of families are living in a single flat. Right?
In yesterday's newspaper it was given......a flat will be considered as a single unit and will be given only 6 cylinders in subsidy.
I don't know how........I am not aware of flat life and their LPG
It was written......families belonging to flat surrender their gas connections and they get it from flat. i.e. A single gas cylinder used by all families. Like electric meter readings, usage of gas will be recorded and each family have to pay according to it.
I doubt if it's applicable for Kerala apartments only

There is no way they can consider the entire apartment as one unit since each family is a separate unit and one cannot consider the entire apartment as one household , that is ridiculous and I have a feeling that there is some communication gap between the governmental agencies with regard to this ....
A flat is a small unit in a residential building. Flat is smallest unit and only one family lives there and also there is only one kitchen. So there is no question of many families living in a flat.can be enforced.

Is that really true ? How do they expect people to manage and how fair is this decision? On the one hand you have politicians having 100 odd connections being supplied to them...

We need not be cynic and say anything. What does a flat mean? This does not mean one building or village. Flat is a small portion in a residential building, that can accommodate one small family. So according to government policy, six cylinders for a flat. .If there is still doubt, it will be necessary to search in Google what a 'flat' means.
I don't know what the family members of ministers are thinking. Is it possible only one for a flat or house. It should be at least 12 per family.
You may get any number of cylinders as you need. But government cannot give subsidy for unlimited consumption to all. It is necessary that the very poor only get subsidy and others pay full price. Government is working in right direction. P.M. has also opined that the rural poor need subsidy.

In my brother family they are using 2 cylinders per a month. 6 cylinders are not enough for them. They will suffer more.
This means that they need 18 cylinders more, for which they have to pay in full. But there is limit beyond which government cannot subsidize.
They are wasting some gas also. They used to boil the milk more than 1/2 an hour.
2 small kids are there. so they used to boil more. but no need to boil that much of time I think.
I also live in a flat. There are 50 flat owners. We need more than 6 gas cylinders per year. I think the news is fake. It is really not possible to adjust with 6 gas cylinders. This will adversely affect the existence of the government.
The news is not fake. It is true only. Government decided to give only cylinders in a subsidy.

It is already applicable in our state.
