Banke Bihari temple is always crowded with lots of " Bhakths".But during festival time it becomes more crowded.It is not safe to visit the temples when it gets much crowded.

We should avoid going to temples when there is much rush.But pilgrimage does not see all those.They just risk their life.

I agree. But the problem is that religious faith is not only for particular place of worship. This is also about particular day and time. so, all rush to reach there at particular time only. For example, you may bathe in Sangam' Triveni , Allahabad on any day but it is considered more auspicious to bathe at same place during a particular month and even date/ time. Then people gather there in very large number resulting in stampede.
No doubt authorities attempt to provide security and maintain some order. But this is not very feasible in view of very large crowds at a particular place. any suggestion to limit number of devotees at such places will be resented by people. Many rather consider this very auspicious and lucky to die at such place and time.
