We see that many of the most successful individuals across the world are either school drop outs with no degrees or any intellectual pursuits of an academic nature.Just to name a few – Bill Gates( Microsoft ) , Larry Ellison ( Oracle ) , Michael Dell ( Dell Comp) , Dhirubhaii Ambani ( Reliance India) were all high school drop outs but that did not stop them from being brilliant and achieving success for themselves and managed to change the world and themselves ….most of the brilliant hollywood actors too are school drop outs !
So this makes one wonder whether academic education or a university degree is really essential or is it the capacity or the personal charisma of a person that makes him succeed no matter where he is. Education no doubt adds on to his calibre to succeed in what he takes up...
The above mentioned names of people are talented people. Just think what is common between these people. Ofcourse they are not well educated but they sthey all started their own business. A buisnessman dont require the tons of degree, he requires only the ability to take the risk . All of these people took risk in their life to settle the business and luckily it worked out for them.
But this is not the case with jobs. U need to have the tone of degree to get the huge salary.Even if a person hes immense talent but no degrees the job opportunity goes away.

This may be a good example of hard working and high thinking.

I think the thirst, the Hunger, the Curiosity is something, should be there in a person to achieve. No matter,he/she is studious or Illiterate or unqualified.
Those person, which has achieved without been qualified were having the curious thirst and hunger to achieve.

Yes I agree with the Ronark words the person who want to achieve he must have the hunger of achieving his aim.

The persons you named either lived or live a few hundred years ahead of their times and form exceptions rather than the rule. Rabindra Nath Tagore was also one of them.but that did not prevent him from finding his true place under the sun!
I agree that they are exceptionally talented and focus4ed people who have made a success of their life...I guess an average person needs the help that education provides him in making a career for himself ..
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

But one needs to have talent and other qualities to run a successful business empire it does not happen only by taking risks and also by leaving everything to luck. it also needs a lot of hard work ,dedication and a keen sense of observational powers...

The university degrees are necessary for most individuals for entry in a profession or a company. There are talented individuals without high professional qualifications. They also cannot get entry in firms as employees or get in profession like medicine, law. They get success as self employed. For example, Ambani and Bill gates got success as self employed businessmen.
But there is always a way to get success if you have knowledge and experience but not prescribed qualification. For example, if you have knowledge of law but no degree, there is nothing to stop you from writing books and articles on law.. Also, you may give consultancy from chamber and prepare appeals and briefs and engage some other advocate to appear in court.

Some of those people are even better than the advocates and are able to do everything other than attend courts and submit documents.I suppose the fact that they have no degree makes them even more interested in getting all the relevant information and keeping themselves up to date...

I am in central excise consultancy. The consultants without law degree can appear before commissioner (Appeals) and Tribunal. They can not appear only in High Court and supreme Court. Thus there is tremendous scope even without law degree. Many consultants are retired government employees and have thus good experience in government rules and law.
