I feel that youth are interested in more in personal career than any other activity- political, social or religious. But they are live to their interests and so the politicians make use of this. Recently, the youth in U.P. supported Samajvadi Party because they were offered lap tops and unemployment benefit. Though not interested in political participation, they play their role when their interest is involved.

Most of the youth is no more interested in dirty games of politics. Only relatives of members of political parties and their kin are coming forth to join politics.

It's flawed thinking on their parts, as to further career prospects they need to comprehend that careers are made in an environment created by the political decisions which are central to everything. Leaving driving to someone and expecting to reach one's destination is not very pragmatic!

Actually, politics grow in school and colleges. In schools, it's abolished years before. Only in colleges, you can find a few people in white shirt and white dhoti. Yet, since most are now studying in professional colleges where politics is not allowed, youth not showing interest in it

Sandhya, the kind of things that one has to deal with in politics is what puts them off. Also, the older generation who still dominates political scenario will not let younger lot take over so easily, we are already seeing that kind of struggle in almost all political parties. Unless you have a father or a mother in politics, it is hard for outsiders to enter the inner domains of any party. Also, the present youth would rather earn that money the with hard and smart work than indulge in politics and earn money with shades of black and grey!
In fact, there is dynastic system everywhere. Hence, this is not a question of youth getting apolitical. The youth belonging to political families are not apolitical. That is why sons and daughters of political personalities turn to politics. In U.P., Akhilesh yadav, C.M. is youth leader and son of S.P. leader Mulayam Singh. The youth not in political families are apolitical for obvious reasons.
This is true about other fields. The sons or daughters of corporate houses/ businessmen inherit their parents' legacy in job as well. In professions like advocacy, Chartered accountancy, film industry and many others, the sons and daughters of those in profession inherit the legacy. In fact, this is just an extension of earlier caste system that ensured that entry in any ob is hereditary.
However, as voters, youths are conscious of their own and social interests. That is why the vote wisely in their own interests and social interests. The youth recently voted in U.P. for Samajvadi Party because they had hope of better deal. The hope may come true.
