Ok Sunil then what should be the rules to keep to get good politicians.
They must be educated, no criminal cases against them even if those are in pending stages, a certain period as political worker, related to a party -changing party would take his membership of the house and he shall have to fight again for the seat. Active in allotted assignments etc. should be the starting qualifications. We can discuss further on this subject.

You are right, we need experts of their particular fields at the commanding posts. Not the so called politicians of our country. Political scince is a deep subject, which they know nothing of.

As gulshan ji explained we need a government to have a good country. But we need a change in our election system. We need to amend somany rules to get good politicians.
'Good politicians' cannot come by change of rules. As long as 'good people' remain away from politics, 'bad' will have their say.

They are really necessary in a democratic country. But they should know their duties first

So that was the reason Shashi Tharur had to go. He was not a politician but a good literate person and an expert of his field.

In any democracy, the biggest quality of a politician is to get maximum votes. This is just like a student's quality to get maximum marks in exam. Thus by employing any method- moral or immoral, good or bad- if you can get more votes, you are successful- any other qualification fades. Consequently, a good politician is one who knows what his voters really want and he must act accordingly.
Here I may give an example of MLA in my constituency. He is BSP MLA. He keeps track of all deaths in his constituency and on information through Obituary column or otherwise, he personally visits the bereaved family or sends some body with a condolence message. Naturally, he wins peoples' heart. He has been elected again in recent elections.

But that is not politics in any case. that is game of numbers. I agree democracy is name of numbers but this is much more beyond that. This is for the people by the people and with the people. But our democracy for the time looks like totally against its chosen path. this is so selfish for our politicians and so shamelessly.

Democracy is indeed game of numbers. Beyond that, we need more intelligent and conscious voters. Success of democracy depends more on people, who are ultimate rulers.
