Hi friends, first of all let me wish all the members a very HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR...
Most of the members had a short term goal that members count should reach 5k by the end of previous year and we also succeeded it. So let us discuss from future perspective ( I knew this is too ambitious), and let us share our views, regarding the total number of Boddunan members by the end of this year.So let us take this as a long term goal and put our contributions for the development of the site. Everyone knew we can't expect 1000 getting registered overnight and working hard to achieve our goal will definitely gives good result.
I believe if we cross 25,000 members by the end of this year will be great and anything over 25 k is job done perfect.
More members = More Active Members = More Page Views, and hence we have great chance of getting adsense share aslo.
Let us also believe that the moderators will discuss about their goals , w.r.t number of members by the end of this year...
We also share our views or ideas, to improve the page views and also members count for Boddunan.
Here let me share my point of view,
1) I believe advertising Boddunan to college students , will definitely increase the members count. So we must ensure that most of the students are aware of Boddunan, which automatically makes them to register and be active in this site. Banners outside college or some advertising techniques will definitely increase the count.
2) This may not be accepted by all, but still let me share my views. Introducing some good educational and IQ flash games in Boddunan, will definitely make inactive members to become active.Moderator can also assign reasonable points, so that this will become a dual benefit for members as they can play and enjoy the game and can also participate in the revenue sharing. But steps must be taken that these games does not slow down the activity in forum and articles.
3) I believe writing articles with respect to recent news, will increase the page views, because if some one wants to know about the recent news and if he/she types about the news in Google, let our Boddunan link appears in the first page. This increase the Google Page rank also.
4) One of our member Mr.Parthiban also suggested a great idea, regarding DAILY NEWS and I am sure that will also increase the page rank. Thanks to Parthiban
5) I also believe that most of the people in today's world follow cinema, and so starting a separate section with the latest movies releases in all languages and also the reviews, with a rating system also ( For example we can rate the movie and for any new member can know about the movie based on the average star for the film) might increase the page views.
So friends, these are just my suggestions and forgive me if I am wrong anywhere ,and you can also share your views and expected members count by the end of this year.

why you everybody just going for members. Is there any benefit till nwo by the increase of members. We have more than 5000 members. And only 70 to 80 are working approx. . So what the rest are doing. nothing. Firstly make active all the members othervise there is no benefit to increase members. I am trying to right an article which completely shows boddunan working. So pls you should also do something.

It is June 1st 2010..... The members count is 6337 ...
So we have 7 months time and I guess anything over 13 to 15 k by the end of this year will be very good, but a lot of work must be done to increase the number of members count.
I guess it is high time that Boddunan must go for marketing statergies, by giving ads about this site at various places and also in intenet....

Boddunan has a lot of competitions to earn money and the only thing we can do is that we have to make sure that these very good competitions are known to many people, so that they can register and start contributing in his site.

We should have some marketing strategies like web banners etc and the moderators and members put some banners on college sites and educational information site so that the membership increase. Now a days web banners are the best to advertise on the net to have some traffic instead of writing pages of blogs that attracts less people. The initial 25K traffic can be achievable if we start marketing from now other wise we will reach below 15K or even below 10K.

Now it's a hard fact that more and more members do not automatically translate to improvement in the rank.Some weeks back when there were fewer registrations,more activities led to boddunan's rank reaching near 10,000 and now new registration has picked up but the rank is somewhere near 20000!We need quality that is the bottomline!

Well i want to suggest this before. I think Question&answers section should be given importance. As many people look for some content for their question. Have you observed the traffic of yahoo answers and other similar sites...?
For some 10 answers, answered by the member a cash credit should be awarded. The cash credit can be minimum depends on quality and rating giving by reader...Similarly for questions also such facilty should be there so that there will be balance.
I know this is not a difficult task but many not be accepted by the moderator at this time...due to lack of manpower...
