The Govt of India, Ayush mantralaya (Health ministry) has  advised pregnant women to stay away from sex and meat.  Many consider such advice inapt. It is also not known whether this is from medical viewpoint or moral.  Some doctors opine that  sex is okay in early stage of pregnancy but should be avoided in advanced stage. How far the advice for non veg diet is apt is a matter of dispute.

I am not a dietician. But, I learned all about food  from the Book, " You are what you eat" and from a few Doctor friends.

You are jack of all trades and master of none. There is no subject beyond you. Only when you start stretching beyond your level of knowledge you go haywire but are too proud to either own up or give up. Carry on RAMBABU .

If the advice is based on health ground then it is fine but if any religious sentiment or morality attached to it then definitely, it 's no one's business.

No doubt there are some concerns but unless we see the total picture , it is futile to come up with any conclusive opinion about the issue of eating meat. This is a very good article which covers a whole and of details ..

No one shall force any pregnant women not to have sex. Similarly, non vegetarian food items may be consumed if they like to have.

It is indeed a good article. Actually, we assume whatever we wish to according to our mindset and then start lecturing others without going into the details. I believe one can consume whatever he/she likes in moderation and no problem will arise.

I read the article. The writer clearl says, it all depends on different conditions, under which, Meat is eaten.

Its a very good article and an eye opener too. Heard often that food cooked over slow fire is tastier. The article proves that it is healthier too to cook over slow fire and avoid very high temperature.

In the debate of veggie eaters vs meat eater, one keep forgetting that in both the cases being extreme is bad. Some months back, I read in a newspaper article that some people who are totally vegans to the point of avoiding anything animal products including milk and milk products tends to end up anaemic and unhealthy

Some doctors advise pregnant women to have sexual intercourse in particular months  in order to favour normal delivery. They recommend food stuff based on the health of the pregnant women.

On comparison, vegetarians have an edge over non vegetarians. One can lead a healthy life only with green vegetables, pulses etc without falling I'll. It is not so with non vegetarians. Living on only meat or onlychicken will definitely  lead to life threatening ailments.

No one lives only on chicken or meat. Non veg eaters also take vegetables in good quantities. Why must you forcibly try to say that veggies have an edge over non vegs.

Veggies have an edge over non veggies is a fact. But, if one takes vegetables and meat or chicken in balance, it works well. It is my experience.

Non vegetarians not only consumes meat but also vegetarian stuffs. In fact, most of their consumption is vegetarian stuffs. Most of the non vegetarians consume non vegetarian food stuffs only one or a couple of days in a week. Non vegetarians have the benefit of both vegetarian and non vegetarian items.

Hardly, there are people who live only on non-veg items so why are you constantly trying to prove the non-vegetarians are prone to an ailment. If it is true that those who eat only non-veg dishes fall sick easily then the same is the case with vegetarians and vegans. We all know about well-balanced diet and that means a combination of various kind of food items. As you are promoting vegetarians then I wonder how do they manage to get the required amount of Vitamin D which is essential for the body.

There are reasons, why I advocate Vegetarianism. Though I Was a regular non vegetarian, over a period, I fell a victim BP and Diabetes. Then I consulted a doctor, who advised me to switch over to vegetarianism and start doing Yoga.

Over a period of 2 years, I became normal. No BP, no diabetes.

Owing to the above said reasons, I always advocate Vegetarianism. Not due to hatred towards,  non vegetarianism or Non vegetarians.

It is extremely surprising to know that diabetes was cured by turning to vegetarianism . Seems doubtful.

Not only Diabetes, most of the ailments can be cured by a combination of Vegetarianism. And Yoga (as I said above)

But you have been boasting time and again that you have never gone to a doctor and never had any ailments blah blah...it is difficult to believe anything you say . You were lecturing poor anil, who has some physical disabilities about yoga and how he shd exercise etc, Honestly why dont you stop coming up with half truths and untruths here, instead stay silent when you have nothing to contribute ...

Yes, even now I stick to my word. Maintaining vegetarianism and doing Yoga consistently, I could maintain my health. Free from ailments of any kind.

Both vegetarianism and yoga cannot cure the  habit of empty boasts and biases
