Over exposure to sun could be harmful. But a limited sun exposure is a rich source of vitamin D. It is the only source of vitamin D as not many food item contains vitamin D.
It is a proper explanation. I want to congratulate you for making this clear on time.

A bit misleading perhaps, because sunlight is NOT a source of vitamin D but it helps synthesise vitamin D and expediates its absorption in the body, there is a difference there, being a source and a catalyst are two different things!

Sun light acts a catalyst for the photosynthesis which leads to the production of Vitamin D by the skin using ultra violet rays from the sun light.

Sunlight has different effects on different times of the day. The morning sunlight alone can give you the health benefits.

The ideal time is, 15 minutes after sunrise. This is the time, when the sunlight would be sans harshness and at the same time, one can benefit the rich vitamin D that rejuvenates.
