The CBI director has further compared the betting to enjoyment from sexual assault. This has angered many women organizations.

It seems CBI director is not sure what he is talking. I think, he's plagued by insecurity.

What ever reason for this statement but no one expect it from CBI chief, although he said sorry for it.

CBI director should apologies for his statement in the media.

That he has done it with lots of IFs and BUTs. It's just an eyewash.
What is the background of his speech and am surprised to hear this from such high position officials perhaps a slip of tongue, sometimes it does deal with the mother tongue you are speaking up, many a times such slang words are common in those languages,

Then in such a case, all such comments should be translated in to all the languages of 8th schedule to avoid confusion.

There is perhaps one form of Bihari Hindi which mostly dealt with slang. am not sure presuming abt. it, In Odia, language, Puri boli, or the language spoken by local residents of Puri town, is full of slangs but that is not exactly meant of it. In one such incident, last year MLA of Puri became, speaker of Odisha Vidhan sabha, he called one lady officer inside assembly premises by putting the commonly spoken slang words in front of her name, and then he was removed, later one the MLA said it is the language which used to be spoken here,

I'm very well aware of slang usage in Odiya. A Sambalpuri will be offended with the word " Dudh". And the slang variations are there in every state.

What we need is some tolerance and a sense of humor. There is no need to make too much of some remark that does not actually intend to insult any one or class. The CBI director was talking about legalizing betting and he had no intention to insult women or justify rape. If we react to any remark out of proportion, we shall be busy with trifling and irrelevant matters only and ignore the important issues. Just in this case, the theme of legalizing betting has been sidelined and the irrelevant issue of enjoying rape has come to fore.

You are right. Enjoy and laugh it off. The more you think and read in between the lines, the more it makes your hair pull. It is also true that the main issue is side tracked and we indulge in trifles, which is not worth.

Betting is like biding. Many people take part in betting to earn more money in fractions of time. It is much different than any other serious crime like theft, rape, sexual harassment, etc.

One thing is common to all offences- betting, rape, theft. This is the desire to get something that you don't work for. Betting, gambling and theft are the way to get money without earning. Similarly rape and sexual assault is the desire to get sexual satisfaction from a woman without earning her goodwill and consent.

You have put it in the most correct way. Humans by nature are lured to make the things happen without efforts.Yes all the evils you said are the examples of ' earning the fruits without sowing the seeds.'

If this is so, the casinos must be banned. Every day millions of money are lost and win by the people in casino and lottery. Gambling in many states are legal, if clubs has license. Those clubs must be closed.

Casinos are banned in India, the only one or two are operating from the sea ( floating casinos) in Goa and one other place...Gambling in any form is banned in clubs but private clubs can have them....

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
