Its little bit surprising to see Bengali in the list as throughout the country we cannt see people speaking it other than bengal...but still?
You have not taken into account Bangladesh which is a Bengali speaking country with a big population+ WB in India.
There are god number of Bengalis in Assam and Meghalaya. Besides, Bengali is also spoken in Tripura. The Bengalis in Tripura and Meghalya are mostly refugees from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh)
The whole of north east is full of people from Bangladesh, later they move to Bihar then to other part of the country. By then the acquire every document to pose as Indian nationals and create problems for locals, that is the whole problem.

Hindi is the national language. So, it is obvious that it would be most spoken in India. There are many indians there in the World, so again it is obvious that Hindi will be one of the most spoken language in the World.

You know this depends upon the natives speaking a particular language to make it most or least. Mandarin is the most spoken despite its spoken in very few countries of the world. English that spoken in almost every country is not at the top.

If we consider only mother tongue or first language, Chinese is at top. But English is top if you consider also those who use English as second language
