Congress politics are very clear. It's Divide and Rule policy inherited from the British rulers..

More importantly Congress and other parties instead of taking the Pakistan and Kashmir issue as something that needs to be handled with unity try their best to cause damage by making irresponsible statements. Isloation of Modi is happening within the nation by people who have lost power and done lose a single opportunity to malign and disgrace the PM ....It is to his credit that he disregards everything and carries on doing what is needed to be done because what he has inherited is left over fragments through mismanagement and corruption.

 

Again a very relevent point. Indians by nature are divisive. This is sad. Yes the Congress has a big hand in this state of affairs. 

True ! Pakistan anyway has a reputation for being the most unreliable nation ever, nothing they say can be believed... The only language they would probably understand is total isolation in all spheres ..We see us going overboard with their actors, singers ,players etc ..Everything should be banned until they behave themselves and stop spreading terrorism ..

Look at all the fuss by salman khan and releasing film in Pakistan.  Why? Most Muslim actors and producers have soft corner for Pak. Only iron will and government isolation of pak may help, but Pak is a nation bent on revenge.

To a certain extent one can understand this love for Pakistan by the older actors and people who were part of it before division like for example Dilip Kumar, Dev Ananad and scores of others had fond memories because of the connection.But for actors like Salman Khan , only money power and fame matters and hardly think about national pride and such other sentiments...

True Usha. The love towards birth place is quite natural. When Dilipkumar visited Lahore on a cultural mission a big storm rose in India. His Pakistan visit was attributed to his Muslim origin.former President General Zia-ul-Haq invited Dilip and later to receive the Nishan-e-Pakistan in 1998, Pakistan’s highest civilian honour.

It is all matter of perception. Let us face the unvarnished truth and the stark reality that international relationships is all about promoting supreme national interest sans friendships. We have got to make our moves in the chessboard of it with a lot of smart thinking and pragmatism. Unfortunately the greatest stumbling block as I see is the absence of a national consensus among political establishments. The history of management of our international relationships has been characterized by flip-flops,muddled thinking and worse. Talking about close neighbors,these are mostly failed states but not short on mischief astutely leveraging their relationships with both India and China and India should be better advised not be so enthused about friendship with them. After all an enemy is better than an insincere friend. Pakistan has no friends as such.It enjoys no respect in the comity of nation its rogue status may be of value to China as it was to the USA once but China would have to a heavy price for promoting this frankenstein as the USA has been forced to. We also need not bemoan Russia's stand-offishness. It is busy grimly fighting its own lonely both economic and political battle against the Europe and its neighbor being a pale shadow of its past.Finally there are no permanent friends in this business, it is only permanent interest that counts and sooner we identify and strategize them the better!

We must realise that at some point leadership of Asia has to be decided between India and China. We should not fear China as Japan is reasserting itself and China is mortally afraid of Japan. The Japanese have reached out to us and we should grasp their hand including military cooperation. Also India should cultivate Nationalist China ( Formosa.). China is in greater danger now than ever. Lets also remember that apart from Pak, china has no friends in Asia.

Agreed. A Nation that intends to develop should identify and implement its permanent interests.

 

If India has to attain a position of leadership in Asia it must resolve its issues with Pakistan. If it cannot how can it advise other nations. Also India has to reach a much higher level of development to be able to help other nations with finance also. Indians have to develop a disciplined and more honest style of living to  be looked at with respect. Indians have to learn to be proud of themselves and their country. With Muslim phobia and narrow outlook we cannot expect to aspire to be a leader in Asia. Congress bashing by @Usha and @ MGSingh serves no purpose. They played their innings now let us not be patronising towards present  rulers. They must perform on their own and not by blsming previous governments.

As I have suggested that a fractutered polity poses the greatest threat to us and works to the advantage of China. We need an Indian response not a BJP or Congress.We have seen the ugliest and disfigured face of Pakistan but refuse to see that of its God Father  ,China which is even worse as its recent veto at UN would clinchingly prove. What do we do in  a situation? The first thing that comes to myt mind is hit China where it feels hardest. It is in the realm of trade and commerce wwhere we are having trade deficit which translated into simple terms it Indian money being used against India! Do we have the guts to put it across China that enjoy your incestuous relationship Pakistan as much but not at our cost! Restrict and constrict trade and commerce by replacing it with other disgruntled neighbors of it. Forge effective and close military ties to evolve a pivot against Chinese hegemony. We have played the Tibet card terribly. If Vietnam could succeed in teaching China a few lessons why can't we? About Modi I am not sure if he is on sight-seeing mission or has higher mission! It is all fire and brimstone to use an old cliche!!!
