Many people used to purchase second hand phones because they can get those costly but their dream phones in low cost. That’s the common reason for the people who used to purchase the second hand phones. Well, there is nothing wrong in it too, as sometime we can get lucky and get phone with great condition and at very low price in compare of the original rate of new phone. These days we can see many smart phones with really high cost, so not all people can afford such high price even they want to have those phones. So for them going for second hand phone is best thing as like that way they can have reduce price of the same phone by little compromising with its body condition.

But there are few important things which really matters during buying the second hand phone. If the buyer don’t consider them properly then he can face a big lose because of having bad product in near future. Let’s see what those important things are which one should keep in mind before going for purchasing any kind of second hand phone.

How much old? : This is the first thing buyer should confirm. How to do it? Well, he can check the bill if it is having any, or can ask directly to the seller. So he can get the idea about the pricing of the phone from the purchasing date. If it is too old from the purchase date then better not to go for it as it can have some hidden fault and also no need to take such outdated phone.

Bill or without bill: The thing buyer should checkout is the phone he is taking is with bill or without bill. Let me tell you this thing is important in many ways. First many people used to buy new phones without bill with very low cost and then they used to sell them in high price from what they have purchased. But this can be risky for the buyers. Because without bill they will not going to have any warranty from the mobile company. Second thing, if mobile phone is without bill then, it might possible that phone is related with some illegal stuff. Like that later on buyer can face many troublesome and unwanted situations. So better be careful on this thing and be clear that phone you are taking is not involved with any illegal activity. That means it is more preferable to take phone which having proper bill and other stuffs.

Name in the bill: This thing is also related to bill, but it is totally different from the thing I mentioned above so I have mentioned it as second option. If the phone you are purchasing is with the bill, then you should also check the name of the person who has taken the phone. You should check that whether the seller is the same person who has purchased that phone. If the seller is not the same guy, then it might possible that the phone you are going to purchase is third hand. I mean to say it has already got sold from the original buyer before and you are buying it from the second buyer. So in that case the price of that phone should be even less as now you are the second buyer of that old phone. So you should consider this thing too.

Make sure all functions are working: I have seen few people who have taken the second phone without checking all the functions. And later on they came know about problems in few functions like Bluetooth. Even it take little more time to you to check all the features, make sure that phone is having all functions working well. It might possible that few functions are not working on phone or some other problem. Check all functions like Bluetooth, wifi, camera, speakers, etc. Most of the time seller wants to sell the phone just because of such problems. So make sure that you are not taking the phone with some fault. Better check all the stuffs instead of regretting about it later.  

Current cost of the phone: Before talking about its pricing know about the current rate of that phone. Because sometime it may possible that seller have took the phone in high price but the current price of that phone is quite low in compare of the old time. In that case pricing will be decided as the new pricing of the same phone not by that old price. So don’t be fool in pricing thing. Electronic gadgets pricing goes down very quickly. So make sure to check out the current rate of that phone and then decide about the pricing of that second hand phone. Be sure that you are not paying more price than required.

Condition of the phone: Even phone is not that old and all functions are working well, you can’t ignore the condition of that second hand phone. I mean if its main screen and body is having too many scratches on it then its price will be surely goes down even if it is not that old. Yes it is common that second hand phone will have some scratches and will be not same as newly purchased phone. But still that doesn’t mean that you buy phone whose condition is not worthy for the payment you are paying. So make sure that you are getting proper item for your money. No need to spend money for the phone who having bad shape.

Accessories are original or not: Well, after checking all the functions in the phone, you also need to think about accessories. First thing check if it is having all the accessories which comes with its new phone model. If it is not having all the accessories then decided price will goes down as later on you have to purchase them from the market. Another thing is that check it the given accessories are original. It may possible that those accessories are not original and got purchased later on. So in that case also price will goes down as original accessories have surely more price in compare of duplicate one. So don’t ignore this basic stuff and check out all these things before going for final decision.

Phone isn’t from the outer country: Many time people used to purchase from the other countries because of price different. Well, in that case better you check all the things, because sometime those other countries phone are not factory unlocked and it can give you troublesome situation later on. If they are not factory unlocked then if you get any future problem you have to spend money for unlocking that phone again to get carrier of your sim. So better you clear all those things before going for purchase that phone. If it is factory unlocked phone than there should not be any problem related to this thing. But as per my suggestion better go for the phone which is purchased locally.

The most worrisome traffic after road traffic is the email traffic. Most of us have subscribed to email alerts from social media sites, newsletters, and many other email alerts. This uncontrollable flow of emails in our inbox creates a havoc in our life. We are not to able to respond quickly to urgent emails. Apart from receiving emails from subscribed sources we also receive a huge number of spam mails. According to google reports, 90% of mails we receive are actually spam. If we follow some simple basic rules and use some cool applications, then this flood of emails can be controlled.

We are mainly responsible for the disorderly state of our inbox. We receive emails whenever someone likes our photo on Facebook, when some one follows us on Twitter, and whenever you are associated with any events in social media sites. When we look into our inbox, we will realize that a majority of the mails are from social media sites. We also receive daily mails from news sites and shopping sites. If you want to stop this overflow of unwanted mails, then simply go to the settings and turn off email notifications.

2. Filter The Mails

This method is useful against mails which you can't unsubscribe. For such mails, you have to apply filters. This will help you to manage all the mails coming from a particular source by creating a separate folder for them. If you are interested, you can read the filtered mails in that folder or delete all of them with just one click. The disadvantage of filtering mails is that you can create too many folders for different clients and in that process you will forget to check them all.

3. Instant Messages

Emails should be mostly used for official purposes, so when you are corresponding with friends and colleagues, then use instant messages from Twitter and Facebook. Sending text messages via mobile phone is also a good option.

4. Sanebox

Sanebox is a cloud based service that filters email. Whenever a new mail arrives in your inbox, Sanebox decides whether you want to read this mail now or later. Thus sanebox reduces your inbox down to the most important emails. There are also some disadvantages of Sanebox like, it judges mails on the basis of senders rather than individual messages and it also sends occasional mails to you for asking suggestions about filtered mails.

5. Inbox Pause

The overflow of mails can't be completely stopped but can be paused. As the name signifies this application, pauses your incoming mails. This a google chrome add on with a large blue pause button and clicking this button will cut you off from all the distractions caused by mails. Unpause this button and you can see all the mails you have been ignoring pile back into your inbox. This is a free application.

6. Mailbox

Mailbox is the latest free email application which helps you to control email traffic. The main attraction of this application is that it comes with a snooze feature which helps you to put off mails out of your inbox for later viewing. The snoozed messages will automatically return to your inbox when you are ready to deal with it. This helps you to focus on important and urgent mails. This application is also now available on Smartphones.

7. Courteous.ly

It is new service for Gmail users which will analyze your email patterns, the condition of your inbox and your unread messages count and based on these statistics courteous.ly will determine your current level of email traffic. This service provides you with a link of your current email traffic load, which you can share with your friends or you can also use this link in your email as signature. The people who send you mails will see this traffic load and they will be more courteous in sending you mails.

Just few days back I have written article about what custom ROM is all about. Now it is time to check out that how we can install that Custom ROM on our android device. As I have mentioned in my previous article that custom ROM is the android system itself with improvement and upgraded features from its developer. And of course it is not one of the official android systems which come with mobile brand itself. And other important thing that I have already mentioned in my previous article is that you must have rooted android device for installing custom ROM on your android device. How to do it? Now let me tell you what are the requirements for having the custom ROM for our android device. There are two important things which you will require before installing such custom ROM on your mobile.

Custom Recover mode

What is Custom Recovery mode?

As far as I know most of the android devices come with their own recovery mode from where we can have backup of our android phone. We can restore those data from the same place too. But this recovery mode is not strong enough to install those custom android ROM versions in android device. For that we have to go for third party recovery mode which can be called custom Recovery mode. With those recovery modes of course we can do backup and restore things. But we also have extra features for installing upgrades and custom ROMs from SD card of our android phone. It also contains many other useful features. So in short it is the recovery mode which can do lot more things in compare to original recovery mode. So this thing is most important thing before going for any custom ROM.

What can we do with these custom recovery modes?

There are many useful things you can do with it.

Install upgrades and many more: You can install upgrades and custom ROMs using this custom recovery mode. You can also install additional tweaks on your android device using which you can change lots of things on your android phone.

Take complete backup of your phone and restore: You can take complete backup your device. Complete means, you will have backup of all the application with its data. I mean you will get your apps back after restoring where you left them. You can restore that backup later using the same recovery mode. So this thing is most important related to this thing.

Mount and Un-mount system: For certain download you must have to un-mount and mount your system and SD card first and that thing you can do it from this recovery mode.

Factory Format: Sometime you need to factory format your android device or completely erase whole operating system for particular reason. You can do these things easily with one click from such recovery mode. You can install back another OS from the same place too.

There are few other things too which you can do it using the same, but I guess these things are most frequent works you may need in custom recovery mode.

What are different Custom Recovery modes?

So far I only know about two custom recovery modes and which I personally used. First one is Clockworkmod custom recovery and second one is TWRP custom recovery mode. Both of them are having same work with little different layouts. But both are good and you can go for any one with which you are comfortable. Personally I would advice for Clockworkmod recovery as it is used by many developers and it is quite user friendly but choice is yours.

Custom ROM for your android device

This is the second thing which you need before going for the Custom ROM. Well, in simple word this thing is like setup of your new android operating system which you will install using the custom recovery mode which I mentioned above. 

Now you have to be careful on choosing the custom ROM for your device. You have to found the custom ROM which is specially made for your device only. You can’t take any custom ROM which is made for some other device and install on your device. Let me tell you never try this thing. If you are not sure about custom ROM then better you not install it as if it is not intended especially for your device then there is highly risk that your phone can get brick. Means your phone can get dead with non repairable condition. So better you watch out before installing any new Custom ROM. If you found one which is specially made for your device then and then only go for it.

How to install it via Custom mode recovery?

So, if you have found proper custom ROM for your device and you have already installed custom recovery mode on your phone then now it is time for installing that custom ROM on your device. 

First copy-paste that custom ROM (whole zip file) into SD card of your phone. 

Now switch off your phone and go into custom recovery mode. In most of the phone you can go into custom recovery mode by pressing power button and volume down button simultaneously. But procedure for your phone may be different so better search about it first on internet.

After reaching to recovery mode first thing you have to do is back up your original android device. This is for safety purpose. I mean if something goes wrong during installing this custom ROM then you can restore back this backup file and get your android device live again. So never forget to take back-up first.

After taking back-up you need to format your phone completely. I mean you have to wipe your data and factory reset of your phone. You have to remove your previous operating system so it doesn’t get conflicts with the new system.

After formatting the system, now it’s time to install the custom ROM. Choose ‘install from sd card option’ and choose the ROM which you have copy pasted in your SD card previously. It will take few minutes to install the ROM. After it get installed completely reboot your phone.

After rebooting your phone you have to wait for few minutes. Because after installing new system on your phone it may take longer time to start up again. So don’t lose patience and wait till your phone gets start.

That’s it. When your phone will start, you will have complete new operating system/custom ROM on your android device.  Now as per new ROM you will found the changes in compare of before. Let me tell you one more thing, the above procedure for installing custom ROM can be different for different phone. But these are the basic steps and you have to follow them for every device with few improvements and changes.
