Line: Line is also good alternative of this application. It is free software and has same features of messaging and sharing files like pictures and videos. Even method of connecting is same, means you can chat with user s if they are in your contact list. But with line you are having one extra feature that you can free call to another line user over internet. So with messaging function you can also enjoy the calling function over the internet. If you are having fast internet then this feature works awesome and can be helpful when you are balance is low. He he. In starting Line app has advertised their app with stickers feature which is like sharing photos with emotions instead of text. They have given many inbuilt stickers which are entertaining stuff to share instead of only text messages. So this is also one of good alternatives which you can enjoy in free.

Wechat: Wechat is also good alternative option. It is having same features like free messaging with sharing different files like music, videos and photos. Plus they have introduced the feature of sharing voice instead of just texting. And because of that it has got good attraction in the starting. But now almost all such apps have the same feature. Connecting function is also same as whatsapp and it is free to use. So if you don’t want to pay then this can be good alternative too. 

Facebook messenger: I don’t think I need to tell you this name. Facebook is already too popular as social networking site in all over the world. Chaton: If someone is don’t know about it then let me tell you that this application is from famous company Samsung. And it is available for both Android and IOS for free. I have personally haven’t used it so not know much about it, but yes concept is same as whatsapp. You can do all those chatting and file sharing stuff just like whatsapp. And as it is from big and known company you don’t need to worry about quality. So tryout yourself and decide if it can be alternative of whatsapp for you or not.

And who knows with these much competition whatsapp company may have to make it free too. But still if you want alternatives of it for any reasons then above are the best. Personally I would like to recommend BBM as it is latest and may offer many good features. But one risk is that it is new so that you may see fewer friends in the starting. But I am sure it will be cover up soon enough as it is from famous company. Or you can try out line application, I am advising this because of free calling function on this application. So choose the best one you like.

The full form of NFC is Near Field Communication. It is another wireless communication method just like wifi and Bluetooth. But let me tell you the concept and usage of it is quite different from them. NFC uses the radio communication method to exchange data from one device to another. NFC vs. Bluetooth vs. Wi-fi

Wifi: Wifi is the fastest in sharing the content between two devices. And with fastest sharing speed it is also having maximum area range to setup the connection. You have to search the wifi connection and get connected with it to transfer any kind of data. So setting up connection may take little time. But once you get connected you can transfer files in no time.

It is also having less data transfer speed in compare of Bluetooth and wifi. But the time for setting up the connection and start data transfer mode is too fast in compare of both wifi and Bluetooth. As I mentioned it took less than one second to have setup. As speed is slow you may doubt that transferring big files can create problem. But we can also use wifi and Bluetooth technology to boost up the transfer speed. Devices can setup the connection using NFC and transfer the file using any of two other wireless technologies. So NFC itself can setup faster connection for Bluetooth and Wifi. So this is big advantage for having NFC on any device.

Disadvantage of NFC

There are two disadvantages of this technology. One is that you need to put devices very near to start transferring mode. So you can’t communicate if you are far away. And second one is that communicating speed is little slow in compare of Bluetooth and wifi. But you can use both these wireless technology to increase the speed. So it can get covered up.

NFC in different smart phones

Windows phones: Microsoft has provided the NFC mode in their windows mobile operating system. They called it tap to share option to share the data with other device.

Google’s Android OS: Android OS have also used this technology to share data between other NFC enabled devices. They have also came up with software called Android beam which uses NFC technology to transfer files between android devices. This software use Bluetooth or wifi for exchanging data to have faster speed than normal NFC which is good move from Android.

Black Berry: This mobile OS has also introduced this useful technology in their some of devices.
