Distributed File System

No comments on “Distributed File System”
Distributed File System The sharing of stored information is perhaps the most important aspect of distributed resources sharing. But the requirements for the sharing without or local networks and intranet lead to a need for a different type of service – one that support the persistent storage of data and programs of all types on behalf of clients and the consistent distribution of  up-to-date data.   Ideally, in a distribute of file system can be stored at any machine ( or computer) and the computation can be performed at any machine (i.e. the machines are peers).     The two important services presents the distribution file system are the name server and cache management.   Mechanism for Building Distributed File System: Mounting Caching Hints Bulk Data Transistor Encryption     Mounting: A mount mechanism allows the binding together of different file name spaces to form a single hierarchically structured name space. A name space can be bounded to or mounted at an internal node or a leaf node of a name space free. A node onto which a name space is mounted as known as a mount post.     Caching: Caching is commonly, employed in distributed file system to reduce delay in the accessing of data. In file caching, a copy of data is stored at a remote file server is brought to the client when referenced by the client.   Hints: Caching improves files system performance by reducing the delay in accessing data. However, when multiple clients cache and modify shared data, the problem of cache consistency arises. Specifically, it must be guaranteed that the cached data is valid and that a copy of the data-recently updated in some other client or in the file server-does not exist.

Google Maps Trick: Measure The exact distance between 2 places

No comments on “Google Maps Trick: Measure The exact distance between 2 places”

If you ever want to know the exactdistance you would cover during a hike, bicycle tour or during a running practice and are looking for a solution where you need not actually buy the tickets and make the calculation complicated, here is a tip especially for you. Use Google Maps: it provides the maps and satellite images you need. You can also measure the airline distances here. ‘Gmaps Pedometer’ would be the best online tool since you want to add up various segments for the respective route.

Go to www.gmap-pedometer.com.First bring the map view to the target area. You need to enter the name of the neighbouring city for this. Click on ‘Go’ and then set the zoom level you want. Keep the left mouse key pressed and move the map section that is visible. Click on ‘Hybrid’ in the map if necessary so that the information is presented together with the satellite picture. Select ‘metric’ in the left part of the dialog so that the distances are displayed in kilometers and not miles. Now determine the distance in the map. For this you need to first click on the left on ‘Start recording’ and then doubleclick on the starting point. Now define each point on the distance with a doubleclick. The more points you define, the more accurate is the calculated distance. Remember to mark each point and also to link curved stretches better.

The tool calculates the stretches between two points in air-line distances and adds these. You can delete the points which have been set incorrectly with ‘Undo last point’. Click on ‘Save’ after you have determined the exact route. Note down the link displayed for this route or move it to the desktop. Using this method, you can recall this saved linked at any time, or even send it to other users.

How to connect one computer with other

If you want to set up a small business and you just want to share printer and one internet connection.

You can use router or switch or hub to connect the computers. The best suggestion is to buy a switch. Use network cables CAT-5 cable. Install a server.

Install a printer in a system and make it a share. You can share the printer to any of the computer or you may share the file to that particular system which has the printer.

For internet buy a broadband of bsnl with type II modem and connect it via cable to any of the system you want.

If you are planning for a local network, then you require a 8 port switch, cat5 cables equal to number of connections you will have and if it is not a network printer, then you will have to install the drivers on a PC and the share it.

If you are planning to share a network connection, the best and fastest method is going for a router. The router will have 4 lan ports too, which you can use to share you LAN PCs.
