Both science and astrology are based on facts. Astrologers think that there is some power who controls us, and the position of heavenly bodies like sun, moon, star will decide weather some good or bad will happen with us in future, where as a scientist thinks that we (the man on earth) can control situations and facts that happen surrounding to him. Researches and experiments are going in on the both fields, one is trying to prove that nature controls us and other is trying to prove that human on earth can control nature by inventions and research. No one of either can completely ignored.
Astrology exists as a branch of learning. But this is pseudo science and unacceptable.

May be, because there are many evidences there which prove that no one can predict future. If you remembered, a prediction was saying that world will come to end in year 2012. It was claimed that the predictions of Maya calendar came true, and this prediction will also be true. But the truth is in front of everyone.

I wouldn't dismiss astrology totally because within my extended family certain predictions have come true ! Of course it could be a co incidence but at the same time there is no concrete proof against astrology as well..I am giving this link where various different view points regarding astrology has been posted.

Upon investigation it was revealed that the Mayan civilization had never predicted that the world will end on 2012. But as their long calender showed dates only upto 2012 people became apprehensive and the myth of false prediction started.

Similarly, Congress has its own calendar, that predicts a sure win in UP . BJP'S calendar and other political parties
Both astrology and science are true, but the way people take them is different. If an astrologer says there exists some other world than earth, people start saying him bogus, and fake. People will say it is based only on his imaginations. But if a scientist says the same thing that there may be life exist on other planets than earth, then only people start believing. So if both say the same thing, people will say science is truth and astrology is false.

We can not take the example of Mayan calendar here, because it was only a solar calendar devised by ancient Mayans but was wrongly predicted as being the prophecy of the end of the world. It is our fault not theirs.
However, I would like to draw attention to Nostradamus and his famous prophecies which has come true so often.

The prophesies of Nostradamus are capable of interpretation in any way after occurrence of events. This is year 2017. I hope somebody should tell what is going to happen in next ten years in India after reading Nostradamus. It is no use interpreting his prophesy after events take place.
