The principal part of rooting is that it will destroy guarantee, and this will be bad if hardware fault appears, so be prepare for it if you root it, then if your phone is new and you have AMC attached with it all will be destroyed, it is always better to leave technical side better to company and Google, if you are tech efficient then you can do rooting like #AKP himself he can root phone, but person with minuscule technical knowledge, rooting is always dangerous. Rooting will give you unrestricted access to phone but it has bad side, The security risk of rooting or Apple jailbreak can be read in this link, http://resources.avg.com.au/security_risks/why-rooting-your-android-phone-is-bad-for-you/# it is from one of top security company AVG's article, it is better to disable app rather than uninstalling apps, as no updated apps can have security risk, it is better to disable and force stop those apps as those apps cannot be uninstalled from application manager. I know rooting of android and jailbreaking of Apple I Phone, but I never does it to my Galaxy phone or to my I Pad, though I used to experiment when some of friends calls me to do it, this only justifies, even if I efficient I never do it on my phone.
That's good expalnation. I don't think, I will ever root my phone, as I am not a grassroot techie
But yes, it is risky doing so as the guarantee can get void. So, better leave it as it is if one is not able to do that.

Well without knowledge anything can be risky...
But if you have interest and knowledge.. then I don't think rooting is risky at all... By the way we can unroot the phone after rooting it too...
I am not saying rooting has no risk.. surely newbie who have zero knowledge about it should not try it directly..

I am also of the same opinion - not trying things if no knowledge. However, if we are a buff of something, we can be a self-learner too.

Yes.. If there is interest then why to hold back.. We can learn it by our self and then can try it out.. Risk is involved with almost everything..

learning is nice, and if risk is taken then percentages of benefits is higher and due to its open source in nature (android) if anyone efficient in coding can customize android, there are many possibilities with android unlike close source OS like Apple and Windows Mobile.

That's why I am saying about Rooting.. Android is open source, and that's why ROOTING it can explore many benefits which we can't get in stock android..

Personally, with android emulator, I have curious knowledge of creating something weird so that any new advancement can be done, and certainly Google has given many promises with its open source OS and it is releasing source code of app development environment even a person with minuscule of knowledge can write brilliant codes with auto complete and auto debugging options.

Surely Google has given great platform for all developers to try out their skills with all freedom.
