BJP PM candidate Mr. Narendra Modi is going to attend the Ilanthaamarai (Budding lotus) Conference which is exclusively for youths, This conference is going to be held at Trichy, Tamilnadu. BJP is trying hard to make this conference a grand success and a remarkable event.
Politics is all about activism and gathering and listening to masses and taking care of their security and needs.

But these can not be ignored in democratic countries like India it seems. All the parties spaend huge amount of money to just gather masses. It is not a good sign for politics and country as well. Atleast PM candidates fo the various parties should realize this fact
Absolutely, I agree with yours point, and also in addition I think all national parties should declare their PM candidate, so that voters can choose from among them, and when that party comes to power and the person who is declared PM candidate takes oath, the voter then can feel that he has given the vote to this person.

What you suggest is not according to our political system as enshrined in constitution. There is no direct election of Prime minister. Only elected MPs elect Prime minister. That depends on composition of parliament after election. Also consider practical aspects. If smaller parties like CPI(M), Trinmool Congress, Biju Janata Dal, Rashtriya janata dal declare their P.M. candidate, this will be too bizarre and funny. If no party gets a majority- which usually happens- the Prime minister candidate will emerge only after parliamentary election and the exercise of declaring P.M. candidate beforfehand will be an exercise in futility. As people do not vote directly for P.M., there is absolutely no significance of so called Prime ministerial candidate before new Lok Sabha is formed.

Obviously Gulshan Ji. In our democratic country, the party/alliance which gets the majority needs to select the Prime Minister by the Member of Parliament's.

Born to express, not to impress.

It is right Prime minister of Chief minister selected by MP and MLA but it is only is books. Indeed Prime Minister and Chief Minister deputed by Party Chief. BJP is not a individual based party so Party declare Modi as their PM to get benefit of his Image. Modi is also first choice of big Industrialist of India.

The MPs indeed elect PM and MLAs indeed elect CM even if this is decided by party in power. But even then the PM can be elected only after elections. Party position in parliament is deciding factor. Nominating somebody before actual elections does not carry much meaning.

I think it sounds okay in theory about selection of PM or CM but it almost always is the decision of party high command in the end. Do you think Manmohan Singh was Congress MPs' collective choice?

Even though Congress High command decided 'Manmohan singh' yet the fact remains that MPs of Congress and allies all accepted the decision. But this is not major issue. What matters is 'party composition' after election. If Congress were not biggest party and/ or could not manage enough allies, PM would be different. Now will congress or Sonia Gandhi be able to decide PM if Congress does not get sufficient number in parliament. This is about others also.

But that is obvious and no one can even think about such a proposition or can make it happen. That is only possible if a group manages to get enough seats.

The way things are heating up one can never be sure what the outcome is going to be in 2014 ! Today Rahul Gandhi has made some very controversial statement regarding the ordinance passed about the criminalisation of the legislators and ministers, saying it should be torn and thrown in the dust bin....I wonder what was the purpose? as it just an honest out burst or a calculated move to get the maximum mileage since BJP is already crying out against it...

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Maybe it would give a new controversy to whole issue that will help Rahul gaining more credibility. Isn't it kind of going against his own party-lines? I hope he knows, what he is trying to do!

I agree with Rahul. In fact, what he said is same as opposition parties also say. But this raises issue how Congress is running. Whatever decision is taken by union cabinet after due discussion in the party forum must be final. It appears that Rahul Gandhi and others had not raised their views in party forums and have suddenly become strong opponent of ordnance. This is not the way a government can function. If affairs are run in such a manner, there is no hope for Congress or UPA in forthcoming parliamentary elections. Blow hot blow cold cannot be prudent way of administration.

From what I perceive Manmohan Singh is no doubt a shadow PM and weak and if he has tried to push the ordinance bill it is under pressure because he may not personally be for it ! But with Rahul bursting out against it puts him in a spot and I can imagine how embarrassing it would be for him which is just not fair especially after the way he has upheld the family during thick and thin..
