In Chennai, We need to wait for sometime. After the fund is allocated, I will be applying for Adhar Card.

Born to express, not to impress.

Even I have heard it from many relatives.. I have already seen big lines where they are enrolling aadhar cards for people.. So I am already scared by those lines, would like to more when rush decreases. :D

it took one full day for the process
I could have taken my daughter's too. But a few people told me, it's taken from schools

Gulshan ji, how do we know the status of our PAN? Online income tax portal of 'know your pan' is not working!

Did you apply for PAN through UTI-ISL or some other agency. If applied through URI-ISL etc, you may contact them through their website.

Now it will not suffice to cite pan number allotted by Income Tax. You also need adhar card for provident fund transactions. Possibly this card may be mandatory in future for other transactions also. So get this at the earliest.

I will like to deviate a bit from the topic. In a local (Marathi) newspaper, I read that Maharashtra is the top state in India who provides the Aadhar card to its citizens. The irony is a lot of people in our locality haven't got the card. In my family of 4 members, only my wife has got her card whereas we all had registered on the same day. The government (administration) is too lazy here and importantly, is careless.

So far so good. In my state AP. each Aadhar card counter has become a battle field. People are taking their food standing in the queues. Women and children are swooning.

I am aware of the technicalities and I have registered already. I also have the acknowledgement as a proof. But the question is I still haven't got the card. People are very careless and lazy here. They don't understand the gravity of the situation.
