Exactly ! why do people vote such criminal elements and give them so much power? Goes to show that Indian voters are simply not mature enough to know all the pros and cons and end up voting the wrong person because of a few reasons - First of all because of poverty, and also a lack of social awareness !

The voters are not immature. What really happens is that those with criminal records have also achievements and have reason for popularity. There are quite honest persons with no criminal record but with less or no achievements and hence voters discard them.

All the more reason for us to have open debates between the candidates like they have in the US where every single detail gets scrutinised and laid before the public and they can decide based on the merits of a candidate.I wish such a thing is introduced here as well...
