self study or tought study

self study is better for indepth study...every teacher only teaches what is known to her....but in self study..you can study that topic hard and strong...

someone can teach you but untill and unless you take interest in it and develop an insight ,you cannot know anything in deep and cannot remember as well. so self study accompanied by a external help would work wonders.

yes, sasikanth you are right. After we listern to classes then also we need to do self study because we can 20% knowledge from teacher but remaining 80% we need to gain by our self

Very good question asked.According to me guidance is must but without self study or practice how can we prepare ourselves for examination and learn the topics.The difficult topics like Stem and Leaf Plot which our teacher teaches in school,he just think that he has done his job but our job starts from there to revise it and then queries arises in our mind about it.This is a very good pattern of teaching.

A teacher provides us the knowledge but self study helps in application of that knowledge and I think proper application of knowledge is more important then merely gaining it.So tought study is essential no doubt but self study is a must.

If the teacher is good, he can learn maximum from him itself. Only a less effort will be needed later. Remember Gurukula system...students grasp everything from Guru's mouth....the time when paper was not discovered. they used leaves to keep notes.

Many students are there who attend classes very well. They will need only a little effort at home to learn them. Otherwise, he has to start from the beginning

A teacher can only guide a student.But in order to really learn things, a student needs self study. He/she needs to be curious about what the teacher has taught.

Combined study can also help a lot. At my PG exam time, we friends used to gather at anyone's home to study. It helps us a lot....at least we will spend time before the books than sleeping.

The same thing happened with me when I was in 11th and 12 th std college. College had big name but teachers were dumb..Students were more intelligent than teacher.

In some cases u need teachers where u need the practical knowledge otherwise i feel If a student is determined and disciplined self - study is best.. I always did the same and I am successful.. Its ultimately ur determination..

Yes that is what I mean most of the teachers are more interested in tuition and all these days.There are very few who deserve to be called teachers, but there are certain subjects which one can not learn without help.

See whatever teacher taught student that's the summery or you can say that the concise part of whole chapter and they delver main points which should remember and self study is the detail description of all those points. So both the studies will be good to get good marks.

The method of learning under a teacher is always advisable because the teacher has experience and knows the job. Combined with that a student should spend some time reading the subjects from day one, so that by the time exams come, there will be no tension at all. Studying by oneself has got many disadvantages because one can be distracted and also there will no expert to clarify doubts.

Welcome and your first opinion is logical.You are true that Teacher plays a important role in learning.

According to me the comparison which you want to do is not a legitimate.Both topics are different and not of same base.Self study is when you are giving time to your studies rather than learning it from other person and tough study is when ,when you are putting full efforts in it.You can compare self study with studying from others and tough study with loose study.Like I want to learn one tough topic of maths Ogive,I tried it but I couldn't understand it i.e. self study and if I am learning it from my teacher then it is some kind of tution.

Now also, I will say "Teacher plays an important part in our studies. If we concentrate at her lectures, we need only a little effort later. She will give you all fundamentals. Otherwise, it takes more time for us to cover up all portions"

How important study is, could be pretty obvious from the word 'student'!!
