Why not?If we are controlling like this it will come under our control soon.
Population control is possible by strictly adhering to one child norm.
Yes,sure. Our government is taking steps for it.Additionally ,village people must be taught about it so that it will be still more effective.
It's just not the question of 'Can' rather 'Must'!! We must control population to restore balance and dignity of life!!

There is another issue involved. The rich and affluent adopt family planning measures more. But the poorest have big families in spite of poverty. This is dangerous.
I think the principal reason being taste of higher standard of living by the affluent sections and the poor people are caught in a vicious cirlcle of poverty, illiteracy and ignorance anf here the role of the government acquires critical importance!
When Ceeem told the story of illiteracy I remember a story of family planning class taken for tribal people.
we are late now already we are in dangerous position all are forgotting about the population growth.Every one must have only one child so that we can control the population

Its true Chinmoy, except the major reason in poor families giving birth to more children is that the more the number of heads, the more the number of hands to work and earn money! Shocking but true, this was the conclusion reached by an NGO working with beggars and families that live on streets. The more no. of children means more members in the family begging on the streets equalling more money.
Unless there is a strong political WILL and COMMITMENT, leaving aside the vote bank issues, population explosion is very hard to control.
The need for some control measure is indisputable, but I'm not convinced that India really wants to control their population! There is that school of thought that believes that if we have manpower it will eventually aide in us becoming a super power.
Our politcians love to politicize any issue and are not prepared look beyond their noses. It is one of those issues which neither brooks delay nor half-hearted measures!
I do not think India will control population but nature will control automatically by doing some activity like soonami, flood etc.

This shows faith in Malthusian theory. Malthus had predicted that if preventive checks are not applied by humans, nature will excercise check by floods, quakes and other calamities. So this is a warning that we should adopt one child norm.
Malthusian theory which was once rubbished by the West, seem to be at work and our government has greater faith in it which firmly believes that population problem would take care of itself without any intervention on its part!
Our Indian government should impose laws against the parents those who have more than two children..
It is the age of science and there are many scientific methods of family plannings like operations and medicines could help the cause. It is now realized that in small families alone lies the salvation of our country. The people are taking to it in large and larger number and let's hope for the very best for future....
Rather than expecting the government to pass any legislation to control population, a more effective method would be to educate the masses on the hazards of overpopulation. People tend to take things more seriously when the consequences are spelt out to them.
Its true that population can only be controlled by adopting one child policy. There are lakhs of orphans in India. You should adopt them . So you could control.
