I have heard Liquor makes them confident and many even speak truth
Alcohol relaxes our mind. We get less hesitant and lose inhibitions to a great extent. The confidence comes from losing hesitation. I have been a heavy drinker and experienced the affect. Personally, I believe in moderate drinks with non veg snacks and food. Drinking quickly on empty stomach is harmful. There should be some chemical properties in alcohol that affect our brain.

It's not correct to say that speak the truth all the time under the influence of it!!
The habitual drunkards will not speak the truth even after drinking. They may not be duped easily. But a casual drinker may be speak the truth under influence of drink.
Though i don't drink , i have met many people who drunk. It is really fun to spend time with them. I enjoyed a lot during my college and whole doing group studies. We have a good collection of videos.
