Indian style toilet is more healthier than western style. Now, doctors in the western world also started to recommending Indian style toilet for healthier living. There was no toilet in ancient period. Our ancestors performed their daily morning routine by squatting for thousands of years. If children do not have toilet practice, they always squat to defecate. Sitting in the toilet in a crouching position with our knees bent is a good exercise for our legs. When we use Indian toilet the defecation is faster, easier and more complete than western toilet.

Many findings of Researches confirmed that western type of Toilets are against Human anatomy. These anatomic problems further led to increase in colon and pelvic diseases. Squatting position  was recommended for healthy Bowel  movement.

The most entertaining part of this discussion was the changing stand by rambabu from post to post - traditional to western to traditional and grinning.png...

I don't think so. It's not true that traditional toilets are entirely replaced with Western type toilets in Cities and Metros. Traditional toilets are also there in cities and Metros.Additionally, digestion problems are there even in traditional toilet users.

It all sums up to one thing. That is, Toilet users be it traditional or Western type see the convenience. I have seen many western type toilet users free from  digestion problems or to that matter any kind of health problems.

Yes it is right. type of toilet have not any connection with digestion. My whole family is using westren type, but have not digestion problem.

Exactly. I have been using Western type of toilet since years. I never had any indigestion problems.

The new link says the same except one thing , how  pregnant women can avoid pressure on the uterus when using the toilet daily in a squatting position. This helps in preparing for more natural delivery.

@Usha's comment on Rambabu's shifting postures was an apt comment. But one must grant it to him he keeps the post's alive.

It's essential to shift stances from time to time as the new convincing evidences pour in to the forums. But neither you nor Usha conveniently forgotten that I maintained my View on Western type of toilets that I did not face any health problems in using Western type of toilets.

I agree. I suggest, if possible for all of us to follow the odd even formula, one day Western and one day Indian toilet system to double advantages of boht and cancel out the disadvantages.

Good suggestion.Let's wait for other's opinions.

This shifting positing ( jumping jilly in his own words )  something that happens all the time with rambabu and this time I felt like making a comment on it....

Rambabu is a sport and will take it in his stride unlike many of us.

Ha ha ha good joke. Odd even formula to use toilets.

Apparently , the Delhi formula is a success inspite of all the criticisms....The Western /Indian formula too might work for those who have both kinds in their house, unfortunately not so in my case !

In my flat. I have 3 Bed rooms. In  all the bed rooms, I ave Western type of toilets. In he hall, there is Indian type of Toilet mainly intended for Guests. All of them are serving the purpose. None of the users had or complained about health related problems.

LOL your guests are hardly going to complain about anything even if they had issues with the Indian style toilets

I don't think so. My guests can express freely about the problems related to any type type of toilets.

In my area, most families have Indian traditional toilets in their houses, but some people who have back ace or knee problem have western type of toilets in their home.
