Absolutely, the system is dangerous, now one cannot show his honesty and survive at the cut throat competition at political spheres, as in modern time, one has to be equally powerful with money and muscle to exercise supremacy, if one does not attend this, then the next one will pop up with money and muscle power to remove him, all these are not coincidental, these are now part of system, and the person who is the part of it have to shed ideologies and come to the realities.

True man.. And this is so into our roots that we can't imagine to see the society without money , power and corruption... No point of saying anything to anyone.. Its we are who have to take charge of life....

The very theme of the thread appears misconceived. In fact simple and honest do not win elections. There may be very rare exception. As only corrupt win elections as a rule, there is no question of getting corrupted after winning.

I guess Politics in India attracts a certain class of people only who are looking for opportunities rather than serving the nation.They spend a lot of money during the election with the hope that they would earn it back with interest.It is like a business proposition for them. I am yet to see any MP or MLA wo has remained clean after gaining power..The degree may vary but they all become richer and more prosperous ! not just them but their families and kith and kins too..

All look for opportunities. Opportunities are in different fields. Nobody enters any field purely for service. People form even NGOs and make temples and ashram for availing opportunities and not service. Politics also gives best opportunities to those who can venture and afford. Usually such opportunities are also hereditary Depending of family lineage and circumstances, one may select politics, movie, corporate or shrine. Sons and daughters of 'saints' also get opportunity in 'religion'. .

I have started to believe that people have become more intelligent, who know the value of their efforts. They are ready to take full advantage of every bit they did. Why should people in politics should keep out of it. If everyone else is making big in other fields, they too have right to make as much money especially while it is available to them and we should not forget their investment and efforts which is integral part of today's politics.

If you go by rules and o not make foul, it is okay to be ambitious. Pure social service has no meaning. If just every one learns to work and earn for himself, there will be no need for charity and social service. Making everyone selfish and ambitious may also reduce corruption. You need fools to cheat. If there are lesser fools, there will be less cheating and corruption. Crocodiles eat fish and not other crocodiles.

I have a river nearby my native village. Everyone depended on the river for tasteful drinking water, cultivation and use for
many purposes. Generation after generation depended on the river . A few kilometers ahead of the village there is a sea where
the river finally goes into. As soon as it mixes with the sea , all its good properties are lost and its water becomes useless.

In fact dishonesty is way of life in our country, honesty is no more a policy but a thing of past. The people who still have honesty to show, are looser on many fronts. No one wants to left behind, the race is on. The bigger cheat is in front of others. And it is so openly, without any sense of shame.
