If you have quoted an example, let me tell you a big colonizer who started his carrier as MLA from Meerut city changed to SP following his brother bigger business tycoon in a place near Lucknow . In between they both joined BSP where the big brother won but the one in Meerut lost. This time they are with SP and waiting to see the way wind blows. Almost every one in politics is waiting for the same. because here principles count least but self-interests are on top of other motto.

History of Indian Politics is replete with such examples. Fence sitters and floor crossers are abundant. First they start as independents and then they smell the wind which way it blows (As you said above). Then the great exodus starts.

At Puri, here, one business tycoon is controlling the BJD from jail, even local news paper is afraid of publishing his names, Politics has turned into one such situation where a person with money and power can survive amongst all.

As a matter of fact,, hardly anyone is gaining on the whole. What you earn unlawfully is also to be spent on bribes and undue premium on various services. You may make good income unlawfully but you will need to pay that for your child's admission in professional college. The honest will get no extra income but they are also not spared from making illegal payments.
