    Letter 'T' is a symbol in roman alphabet. There is no history behind use of symbols in Roman alphabet. The alphabet is only to facilitate writing It was necessary to allot symbol for each sound that we may utter. Hence done.

    Because the letter T is in the middle of the word water just like an island which is in the middle of water.

    Even am also in confusion with the question. Karuna why you felt letter t is only like island, why not other letters?
