First anti corruption movement at Jantar mantar. Failed and dropped. Then political option and new political party. Now this also dropped. Now advice to people- choose good candidates of any party. Can anyone guess how people will find the 'right'
candidate.
Obviously, anna and his team (since disbanded) are in doldrums.

There would emerge more Annas out of nowhere when the time will come. But this present system would never go on indefinitely.
I appreciate your sentiments. However, presently, there are more corrupt than honest. The only 'honest' are those who are good for nothing. The voters and public also favor the corrupt, who do something for them than the 'honest' who just sermonizes and is incapable of anything.

India's future can only be safe in the hands of the common people as it is the man,woman who are designated as commonest of common who have suffered most at the hands of our unworthy leaders!!
{CJATTACHMENT ["id": 8624]}
True. But common or commonest is very abstract like God. This is just the entire population. Control of administration is with leaders elected by the common men. With which leaders are we safe- this is the theme.
By common Indian experience none seems to be safe at the moment - the commoners may well think of taking out insurance policies against one and all!!

Good suggestion sir. This helps insurance companies. They may devise more policies. But poor can hardly afford such policies. Raja and kalmadi could pay good premium on policies covering risk of arrest and prosecution in scams.

The remaining 'honest' ones are worthless and incompetent people - a very sweeping and inconceivably harsh statement to digest! Which age saw the multitudinous brigades of honest people? They might have been in a hopeless minority but don't call them 'incompetent' or incapable! Sardar Patel was one such who remained incorruptably honest and when he died he left behind a trunk containing a few books and clothes! And the nation still remembers as one of the ablest administrators!!You might argue that all that happened in the past but who knows there might be thousands of bureaucrats and others who have have been braving great odds doing their jobs as efficiently as ever even if that only brings derision and punishment for them!!

There are honest officers but they usually do not work at 'sensitive' posts that need public dealings. It is considered that they will not suit. So, they are posted in 'safe', routine back office indoor administrative assignments where there is neither opportunity for bribe nor considered attractive enough by the 'corrupt' who do not like such assignments.
The leaders like Sardar Patel and Gulzari Lal Nanda were products of freedom movement and politics was not a career to them. Now politics is as much a career as medicine and engineering. so, it is futile to compare the earlier leaders- products of freedom movement- to present day politicians and even other professionals. The fact remains that the most timid and worthless have no option but to pose as honest worker. This is like an ugly woman posing as chaste.

What about Satyendra Dubey -the young IITian who dared and paid with his life. It's just irrational and amusing too to link efficiency or inefficiency to honesty!! We have no right to insult the memories of those who valued honesty may be a little more than their efficiency and suffered even brutal death. A dishonest officer and his cohorts are dangerous for any nation and ours is already paying the price for it!!

Dubey type cases are too rare. Practically, no body is honest or dishonest as such. They just adjust in the environment. some will try to earn maximum. These are also not many. Very few are dead honest who will even sacrifice life. Most are in between. They are not going to reform nor indulge in dishonesty out of way. They do just what is practice- honest or dishonest. The dishonest have to work extra and also need to be expert in work. The novice or inefficient can hardly perform work routinely. Being corrupt means giving work more promptly and satisfactorily. If some body gives bribe, he also expects prompt service.

A new theory on work efficiency and corruption!! I am not sure how many Satendra Dubeys have to die like that to pinch our conscience but would never take up the cudgels for corrupt,efficient ones! My conscience does not permit me to run with the hare and hunt with the hound - like criticizing corruption and dishonesty in national life when this issue has whipped up so much outcry and on the other hand putting in a few forgiving words citing efficiency! This simply not on! Corrupt ones would always feed themselves on like vultures do on carrion!

Apparently, once Sonia Gandhi comes back from abroad where she has gone for her routine check up, there is a possibility of instating the heir apparent Rahul Gandhi to take up a more responsible position.I think it is a good move since we come to know his capabilities if any before the general elections, and if he can deliver even 2% of what is expected one can be sure that the Congressmen would go all out to bat for him...However, the public , hopefully will not be fooled by any of their claims !
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
