I love gardening and can spend any length of time tending to my plants...I personally feel that spending time with plants amidst nature is the best therapy for stress and depression. You forget all your worries while you are looking after their needs and things start looking not so bad ...

Thats beautiful sunil, Lots of lush greenery ! In fact I prefer wild growth rather than the carefully tended gardens that look artificial. The lush greenery we see in the western ghats is quite something..
Very nice pictures sandhya :) , you have a really nice garden, very lush and green. The weather makes all the difference right ?
Capital city is cool comparing to Thrissur. Also Kerala is known for its greenery.   Isn't it?
All those photos are from TVM.
Any member of our home water those plants and feed fish daily. It takes about 1 hour. My parents are so busy with their business work...yet they find time, since brother and family come at week ends only.
My mother and brother spends money lavishly for buying plants...they both are real plant addicts..... :woohoo: :woohoo:
Go through my previous posts....you can know many interesting factors about their gardening......
Let me post a few from my garden at Thrissur....actually I start this garden the same time, I joined here. So, plants have just started to grow

Lovely, even I have good enough garden in front and back although i can't call it large. I have fruits and flowers to live with. My wife is doing care-taking these days.
By the way is it ladies-finger at the bottom?
No sunil, it is a variety of Begonias an ornamental plant , very colorful and lovely to look at,.I have at least 15 varieties of them in my garden...

Looks lovely, but the shape of leaves is so similar even a ladyfinger is visible in between the leaves that confused me altogether.
Adding a few pictures from my own garden..I have a rather large garden so it is not possible to photograph the entire place, have to do it in parts..

I looks that You have really worked hard for your garden.
Its good to see some plants of your garden.
I have posted some pictures of flowers ago.Now My garden is empty, here too much hot but in winter again I will do it.
Yes you must do so, normally we get more flowers soon after rains , but the best period is the summer season. If we add compost and also water regularly we get to see lots of flowers in most flowering plants..
I have also hobby of gardening but not so nicely as Sandhya and Usha.
Nice garden.
I feel that plants are like people, they respond to care ! You dont need a lot of space or need to spend a lot of time or money on it.One can make any open space, a small balcony or a window sill come alive with a couple of plants that are looked after well..

Its true! I have myself experienced that with my plants. If for some reason, I am not able to look after them well, they seem to lose their glow and freshness. I also encourage my son to talk and sing to the plants and when he does, the plants seem extra fresh!! :)
Gardening is the best healthiest habit. It makes you healthy and have a lot of benefits.
Healthier !!! HOW???

Ronark, when we work with plants, there are a lot of calories that get burned, the bigger your garden is, the more exercise you get. Also, being in the vicinity of the plants help you breathe in more oxygen in your blood. When working in the garden, your muscles and brain is relaxed and it releases serotonin, a hormone that is largely responsible for a feeling of well being and bursting stress.
