Film and Cricket dominate the media...
in General Discussions
No doubt that politics comes first, then it is films and cricket which seem to dominate the media attention. Shah Rukh Khan/s birthday celebration becomes national news whereas a poor farmer commiting suicide is relegated to the 5th or 6th page in small prints...It is the same with cricket and sports person.
Do they ( they print what we like and read )or rather do the reading public have their priorities right?

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    People like to read more on cricket and Bollywood spicy news. The news of farmer committing suicide is pathetic and heart touching but people need material that will keep them in gay mood. The publishers understand what will attract readers more and so they publish accordingly.

    People like to read more on cricket and Bollywood spicy news. The news of farmer committing suicide is pathetic and heart touching but people need material that will keep them in gay mood. The publishers understand what will attract readers more and so they publish accordingly.


    Thats the sad part, there is very little attention paid for things that really matter...no point in blaming the media since it is business for them :huh:

    Yes, they are not doing social service...they are doing business!!! So, they need to know the pulse of the readers.....and of course, we are also a part of it. Isn't it? Then how can we blame media????? :huh:
    Me, never reads political news. May spend a few moments in entertainment and sports page, yet get stuck if I read something different.

    Yes you are right celebrity or cricketer news are coming in front page and news about poor people news come or sometime it doesn't come.

    There used to be times when the print media discharged its role in shaping up the popular opinion in relation to serious issues by highlighting important events with great informational and knowledge content. Now the reverse is happening! Mass hysteria is driving our media!
