I dont know abut ur views but what I want to tell u is my experinece with the government duties in hospitals.
Yes government is ready to pay high amount of salary for working in government hospitals. But the problem is the work load is so much like sometimes doctors have to work like 3 days continously without having food and sleep. Ultimately we are humans too we need some life.
I had internship in government hospitals where the amount of patients were so many that we never got time to eat food o relax for 48 hrs and the stipend provided us was only 1500 Rs per month. Is this fair amount of payment for doctors who has to work like anything..?? thats a reason doctors dont prefer extra government duties because we can earn more in private practice and get more knowledge.
Government should keep duties in such way that doctors can get enough rest or atleast have sometime for lunch or dinner. Also should pay fair amount to their work.
What you maintain is doubtless true. Inadequate infrastructure, lack of investment all have contributed to this unedifying scenario but what must be condemned is the greed, inhumanity and lack of moral scruples on the part of some doctors to take despicable advantage of this human tragedy and that's the dominant line of my views.
Yes there are some doctors who do take advantage of innocent humans. SOmetime they are not medical doctors (they r fake doctors) who gain some kind of medical degree and open up the private practice and thus keep on gaining more and more money.

My personal opinion is that, leaves should be made strict and should check whether he is doing his duties correct or not. Whatever he do in his free hours, let Government not bother about it.
Main problem is that most students spends Crores of money for their MBBS and MD courses and they want it return, which may not be sufficient enough by Government Salary.
Yet in Kerala, salary of doctors in Government medical colleges starts in Lakhs.... :woohoo:
ya you are true but if they are free to have their local clinic then they start refusing to come in government hospital they only wants thier own income............ B) B)

Yes. what about those doctors who sell Kidneys?
what about those female doctors who kill girl kids in mother's womb?
In that program, I heard about a machine that costs 1 lakh rupees to conduct abortion. People are selling them saying, you can get that 1 lakh back within a month or two. Have we become that much inhuman?

I am not talking about any fake doctor. Only yesterday I was hearing from a friend of an incident involving a person detected with a nephrological problem which called for surgery (removal of one kidney) by a noted nephrologist of Kolkata and also India. When the doors of the 'Operation Theater' opened, he along with other relatives of the patient inquired about the success of the operation, the doctor curtly told them to collect any information from the 'Inquiry' and demanded his 1 lakh while taking off his gloves!! The patient died three days after!

You are bang on! Today they have money but enjoy very little esteem in the eyes of society! These two professions were considered to be noble but invasion of money-bags have made them - notorious ones!

Yes, of course.
How many doctors are there in our society who treats a poor patient without money in return????? Earlier, it was a noble profession. But now, people are seeing a butcher hidden behind white coat with blood in his hands. Isn't it?
