I always switch of unwanted lights thinking about electricity bill.

Yet, when we go outside for a shopping in evening, I really feel sad when we see malls and big shops spending electricity more than what they actually need.

Some days before I read about Ambani's new home.....its electricity bill costs 85 lakhs (for 1 or 2 months) . Is it necessary?

Its OK if he pays bill of the electricity he uses think about million of people who don't pay bills and steal electricity by malfuctioning their meters.

I don't think such malpractices can be done in our state

yes thats true it happens in India people do so by malfunctioning their electricity meter etc and thats one of the reason of so much electricity cut-offs in villages and rural areas because there corrupt people have putted their corrupted ways in this also. :( :(
It happens in INDIA i have seen it in UP mostly where people do some manipulation and do some connections by which their meter don't run.

Electronic meter????
While we were at our previous residence for 2.5 years, we paid more for our electric bill. Actually, owner didn't tell us that meter has some complaint.....and our bill always starts from 1200. Sometimes even exceeded 2000. When new people came there, they understood their mistake and got it corrected.....their bill always come below 750. :( :( :(
Yes we in Delhi too we have electronic meter and its not that easy to manipulate in electronic meter but still in many parts of UP they don't have it so its easy to bypass meters there.

Yes it is but i rarely see people using it even i too don't use it. :)
Not just electricity but all other forms of energy like coal, petroleum, oil, ONGC etc. are exhaustible and should be used very very carefully. I always walk wherever its possible to save petrol!!

That's because solar equipments are very expensive, even with government subsidy on them, most people cannot afford to buy and install those systems!

I too try to use public transport as much as possible, but the transport system in Pune is a real pain!

Help Ban day night Ipl matchs. Then no need to do anything else
But what's the need to ban day night matches Ketan. :)
Every small contribution counts. If you run your fridge at a slow rate that would save some energy. Even painting your houses with light shades help them keep cool. That means lesser energy consumption.
I cycled many times before but now can not move without bike.I save electricity as much as possible.
If I go out for couple of days then I completely switch off the refrigerator and TV and other electric items.
Some people have habit of plugging the mobile or laptop charger even if it is completely charged, that is the wastage of electricity.

Bicycling is the best way to save fuel and also our muscles get toned. We can use bicycle if want to go nearby places. But now a days people are ashamed of using bicycle. Bicycle is free of fuel and can go long distance at the places where walking is not possible.
