Most countries in the world allow only limited farming of Poppy which is used for manufacturing Morphine. My area is full of poppy plants which I can see used by thousands of people as Bhang everyday. Most of the users look so thin (almost like skeleton) Poppy/bhang, Charas, LSD, Cocaine, all these drugs have the same origin and harmful for human use unless must and recommended by doctors.
But the link article says Morphine is useful though it is a drug. Are you sure the drugs mentioned are from the family of Morphine? If they are please be kind enough to provide a link to enlighten me and the other esteemed members of this forum.
In the link article it is said WHO recognizes morphine as an essential medicine, especially when treating patients with HIV/Aids.

Thank you. I will go through them. Whatever I said in my post is in accordance with the article published in Huffington post.
I read the first link article.
"It is on the, WHO Model list of essential medicines the most important medications needed in a basic Health system."
Read the second one too, that one is more important.
And the first one has listed Morphine in classified drugs which are not available to public without medical prescription.
Here is the original post from wikipedia (COPY)
Most use for this purpose was in the developed world.[9] About 70% of morphine is used to make other opioids such ashydromorphone, oxycodone, heroin, and methodone.[9][10][11] It is a Schedule II drug in the United States,[10] Class A in the United Kingdom,[12] and Schedule I in Canada.[13]

Yes. I read it and it says morphine is not available to public without medical prescription . Does it mean Morphine Is sans pain killing qualities? No? It emphasizes use of morphine under medical supervision, which is no differen from the link article I gave published in Huffington post.
The article also adds
Morphine is a form of palliative care that helps to reduce suffering and helps to promote a better quality of life. It's reported that 20 million people around the world would need some kind of palliative care at least at one point in their lives, yet still only one out of three people have access to it.

Morphine and all other drugs are available in the market legally or illegally provided you have money to buy them and as you suggested people should have access to these in your original post just imagine what will be the result of that step.

What makes sense for banning of this contraband is the sense of continuance of users after using it for sometime and then the person falls into that trap into it.
