The lost ancient civilizations fascinates me and it makes me wonder how the ancient civilizations might be many century years ago. I would like your views regarding the ancient civilizations. Shall we find out about them? Will finding about them help us solve our present problems that we face in society? Will knowing about the ancient civilizations benefit us? I would like to know your views and opinions on this.

When we read about the achievements of the ancient civilization all over the world, we are left amazed. Whether it is the complicated process of mummification of Egypt or the accurate earthquake prediction by the chinese, I wonder how did they know so much. I am also fascinated by the Mayan civilization thst existed in Mexico and the centrsl America for around 2000BC. The calendar system they followed or their their achievement in astronomy were matchless

Scientists  from IIT, Kharagpur and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), have recently uncovered evidence that the Indus Valley civilization is at least 8000 years old. By this, it is evident  Indus Valley civilization is not only much older than the    Mesopotamian or the  Egyptian  civilizations ,but also the oldest civilizations in the World.

Let us not fight as to which civilization is the oldest. All lost civilizations are fascinating to know because of their antiquity.

Its a discussion about which is the oldest Civilization in the world. Of course antiquity imparts weight and value to the Civilizations.

This is not a discussion on which is the oldest civilization, as usual again you have got it wrong. Here we are discussing about ancient civilizations! Period..

In fact all the ancient civilizations were do well defined in their own way depending on the geographical position and natural resources..

In all ages humans keep making achievements commensurate with the times they love in.

Ancient civilizations are very inspiring as they provide our society guidelines for operating. Ancient civilizations has experienced various kind of situations and their ways of tackling the problem can be exemplary for all of us. They have faced many economical, social, political and domestic difficulties that might resemble our difficulties that we are dealing with presently. It can offer us solutions if we look back to anicent civilizations.

When we look back in history , we find that many human values and basic knowledge regarding wisdom and other studies that are knowledge based remain the same to this day. When we look at some of the architecture wonders of those days like the Pyramids, Great wall of China or the Colosseum of Rome, it simply amazes you as to how they did it !

The Pyramids of Egypt elicit awe for their size and construction and the mystery of their purpose. People have been visiting the Pyramids since ancient times, and it is not surprising that the ancient, Great Pyramids of  of Giza were deemed as one of the Sven wonders of the world.

The pyramids are simply great and I have visited 2 of them close to *Cairo. But sadly with all the terror by ISIS tourism has taken a hit

Great. You are lucky, visited Pyramids twice. Of course, ISIS and other terrorist groups are a menace to the World. No tourist will dare to go to any Tourist place. These groups really hit the Tourism.

Ancient civilizations are all fascinating, it is quite hard, for me at least, to choose which one is more fascinating or amazing than the other. The ruins all around the world, the silent testimony to those times, be it the temple caves of Ajanta-Ellora, Roman Colosseum, Greek temples, Egyptian pyramids and tombs, arches and pillars of Nimrud (now destroyed by the ISIS), the moais of the Easter Island or whatever, are all equally mystifying and amazing. Instead of trying to decide which ones are great, we must instead focus on preserving them and trying to learn what we can from them.

It is ironical that these people , I mean the ISIS who want to go back in time where lifestyle and attitude is concerned mainly about women, are intolerant of old monuments that had survived for centuries ..

The oldest known civilization is Mesopotamian ( Iraq ), which is 6500 BC old , but some archaeologists are the opinion that both Indus valley civilization and Mesopotamian civilizations probably co existed or were not far apart

Here is confusion, which civilization is oldest one. If Ramayan period is fact than I think civilization of present India is oldest one..

The point here is not that which civilization is the oldest or the best. The point is that those civilizations did exist and that we should preserve whatever is left of them as best as we could and try to study them and understand them to the limited abilities we have.

However, we do know that other civilizations co existed during the period of Ramayana as there is mention of different kings and kingdoms from other parts of the globe

India in many sectors is still an ancient civilization. You do not have to go deep in time to see how they are. See it in India of today.

You are probably talking about the primitiveness that still exists in many parts of India. However, primitiveness cannot be equalled with the ancient civilization, the ancients can hardly be called as being primitive.

You have missed thecooint.Primitiveness has been brought in by you.
