Should pornography be banned permanently by the Government?

Abid- You rightly state that the norms of censor have changed. There is change of perception over a period of time. The essence of democracy is that people are allowed their own way even if they are wrong. The government cannot direct the people to act in a particular way. The citizens who are alert against ills including porn are free to run a campaign against such evils. social reformers, educationists, religious leaders a; may play their role to enlighten people and raise their voice against porn. But there can be no ban by government. citizens of a free and democratic society are entitled even to make mistakes. Law is there only to prevent oppression of people. The state acts to guard against injustice and coercion and nothing else. If some body consumes liquor, watches porn in private or does anything without harming others, he can not be subjected to legal action. The citizens of free and democratic state have rights even to commit mistakes that do no harm to others.

Gulshan,So according to your view there should not be any ban in a democratic country ??? Don't you see any bans in our India then?

I think when something seems to be dangerous to the citizen of a country it should be banned.No matter it is enjoyed or used by many.That is the real duty of a well state.So if porn sites creates any problem to the country and its citizen it should be banned.

I conclude my discussion.

1) Those sites with excessive ponographic content should be permanantly banned and deleted.

2) For the well being of a nation ,crimes should be reduced.Most of the sexual crimes comes after viewing sites like this and hence it should be banned.

3) Porn sites will destroy all our traditions and culture.

4) Ponography is a cheap business trick to exploit the instinct in human beings.The site owners knows that all humans can be easily attracted to this sites. That is human Character.

5) The high payment that these sites offers to the picture/movie suppliers really attract many to indulge in such wicked practices.So to make our society a cultured one these sites are to be banned.

6) The temple art pictures will not arouse the sexual instincts and feelings of man or woman as the porn sites do. banning porn sites is not equal to banning our culture, but preserving our culture.

7) Launching a ponographic site for public view is not an artistic work.It is not a creative work also.It is absolutely a destructive work, openly releasing an evil to the society.All the evils in the society is to be controlled and as a first step to control this largest evil the sites are to be banned first.

8) What needed is the purification of minds of human society and a determined government.Many businesses will get stopped when porn sites are banned.But as social reform package it is a must.
