Gautama siddhartha was born as a prince. His father, Suddhodana, who belonged to the Sakya clan, was ruler of the Kingdom of Kapilavastu. His mother was queen Maya who was a religious, pious lady.
One night the queen had a strange dream. She saw a six-tusked white elephant descended from the heavens and entered her body. In the morning she related the dream to the king. His father called the royal priest immediately and enquired about the significance of the dream. The priest predicated it was an auspicious dream. It meant that the queen had conceived and the baby born to her will grow up to be great person.
The king was pleased to hear this and he loaded the priest with the gifts of gold and cows. Time passed and the time of delivery approached. One day queen Maya wished to go out into the garden. Her entourage of maid servants accompained her as she went to the Lumbini garden. The garedn looked beautiful with flowers blooming all over and the birds chirping in the trees. An ashoka tree, that was in full bloom, laden with flowers attracted queen Maya. She went closer to the tree and lifted her right arm to pluck the flowers. As did so, a child was born, it slid to
the ground, she didnot feel any pain or discomfort. The child was born clean without dirt on its body and was in a conscious state.
Just then, many strange things happened. For instance, there were showers of flowers from the sky. Some of the queen's attendants rushed to the palace and informed the king about the birth of the prince, and the strange things that occured. The king called the royal saint, Asita. The saint looked at the price and trying to control the tears from his eyes, told the king, "This child will grow upto bring great honour to your clan. He will become an emperor. In case he leaves the kingdom and goes to the forests, he will become a great siant. The king's mind was put to rest by these words of aint Asita but he enquired, "Tell me why do you have tears in your eyes?" The saint replied, "These are the tears of joy as well as remorse. I am overjoyed to see the prince. At the same time I feel sad thet I am already old and so will not be able to live long to see the prince in glory". He amde gifts of cows, land, gold, and food to the saint.
The prince's birth was celebrated all over the kingdom with great joy and fanfare. He was named Siddhartha. Just a week after his bith, queen Maya died. So his maternal aunt, Mahaprajapati Gautami brought up the prince as her own child.
People are being sociable on the net, at the same time their social lives are taking a toll. These are some of the needs forced on humanity! (kuch jyada hi hua, muze bhi samaz main nahi aaya , what does this mean). thats what oldies tell us. It is a tough issue. every one is free to spend his/her time whatever way they prefer. Social networking CAN be of good cause. I remember, the anti reservation campaign picked up because of orkut. but how may times does that happen?
Orkut, Hi-five, Netlog, Bharat students, shelfari and many more. If we would ask about these words to even any sixth or sevenths standard students, we would find him easily explaining about the features of this social networking sites. These networking sites are mushrooming day by day while upgrading new features which is the cause of their success over existing chatting sites like yahoo messengers because these chatting sites fails to provides the lively appearance, blogs and various interesting feeds while communicating with friends, or business networkings.
Many issues have been raised to put a ban on Orkut, the most used social networking site after some incidents, like creating some communities against famous ideals, religions or countries. It is very easy to create such types of communities like “I hate Shivaji. I hate India “, fake profiles, by any user -mostly antisocials and insane type minds to create some disturbances and as ‘like begates like’ theory, interested persons join and support these communities and to catch them is a very hectic procedure, so inspite of raising the unnecessary issues, why don’t we create some communities against them “I love Shivaji and I Love India”.
It is never an intelligent step to raise an issue against these sites because they are providing a complete portal for networking whether we are enjoying a chat with a family, friend, looking for a business networking, or expressing thoughts locally or globally .It is providing a chance to be networked worldwide while sitting behind a desktop in a easy and inexpensive manner.
The only non- violent way to cope up with the problems of these sites is to understand the actual cause of this type of mischievous acts and and to response in the same manner by creating positive communities against such communities and administration should take right action to locate and identify the net-bugs who are creating such communities.
Various issues on incident of female abuse have also been heard through these sites, if the issue raisers take responsibilities to stop the female abuse completely in the real world, then only they look nice while raising such types of issues against the networking sites because if they are unable to stop these type of incidents taking place in front of their naked eyes, then it seems that all these issues are for just a local popularity Of their party / organizations.
Finally, I would like to say that we must welcome the positive sides of any new facility while understanding and finding the solution of the negative aspects. Raising an issue could never be the right solution. Don’t you think?"and its sure one day you can found such type of fakie and hatered community will wash out from social sites and we are seeing that day by day orkut is providing some good work like privacy and other legal action against hatered communities and fakies..as for as if we are getting any such type of stuff then we need to report our Cyber act and Crime deptartment for action"
I think there is sin in EVERYTHING if that is what a person is looking for. Social networking sites allows the user to share personal information and make friends but then again it all comes down to who the user is. Some people are on these sites to keep in touch with their existing friends and family and stay updated on their activities however some people solely join such sites in search of "FUN". Such people who are looking for so called FUN on the net can find the same means of fun else where. Adulterers existed before these sites and they are every where. I am not defending the social networking sites because in my opinion the stupidest thing any one can do is upload their personal photos and write their intimate thoughts in a public domain because that beats the purpose of privacy but that of course is my personal opinion!I think when a person male or female decides to do anything that is harm or even harmful to ones character they should stop and think that God is watching and the angels are recording.
Furious competition between social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace is compromising the protection of users' data, a Cambridge University study has concluded. The survey covered 45 global social networks, ranging from popular sites such as MySpace and Facebook to lesser-known networks. Its authors report 'serious concerns' about the extent to which these sites fail to keep users' personal information private. It is the first detailed analysis to examine the security provisions of a large number of social networks.
These sites are making youth hooked on to their computers, they are neglecting other things in life such as active sports, personal work, school work, office work, household chores, social activities etc.
It is essential for women to be employed. She must take up some kind of job which suits her. It is wrong to think that if a woman is employed she would not be interested in his house hold duties anymore. A woman will never ignore her responsibilities in the house.
Even when she comes home tired a woman will attend her husband and children. It is the right of a woman to work outside her home. Women all over the world have proved that they are capable of doing any job which men are capable of doing.
Employment will not only increase a woman’s income but also helps her to possess a broader view of life. She will learn how to deal with difficult situations. In this respect she would be a good companion to her husband sharing joys and sorrows with him in the house as well as outside the house. An employed wife will keep the family happy and well provided.
I often hear people complain about life. Some say they cannot make both ends meet. Others say they do not have the comforts which many people have. There are some others who are not happy because the cares of a family prevent them from doing well what they want to do in life. There are others who are unhappy about the corrupt and the heartless world they live in. in short, if you believe in, what most people say, we live in an unhappy world. Thomas Hardy said the same thing memorably “Happiness is but an occasional episode in the general drama of pain.” That is, happiness comes by fits and starts and rarely; human life is mostly full of sufferings.
What is my idea about a happy life? Before I give my views, it would be useful to see how others have answered this question. Some people believe that renunciation is the way to a happy life. They believe that happiness comes through giving up the cares or pleasures of the world. Some choose the way of religion. By turning their back on the man and the world, they hope to see a ray of happy light from heaven.
Others like the American philosopher, Thoreau, believe that our society is the cause of our unhappiness. So we should go away from the worldly and wicked society; we should withdraw into the woods. There is a life if simple living and high thinking, that alone can bring real happiness. But this , again, means searching for happiness away from one’s fellow beings. Clearly, this is not a healthy way for all to follow.
Some philosophers have written books about ideal imaginary countries where a happy life might be possible. Thus Plato, Sir Thomas Moore and Samuel Butler have written books to show that a better social, political and religious system could make a happy life possible. Their ideas, however not been put into practice till day. That is why we can get little help from them in answering the above question in a practical way. So let us try to suggest a few practical hints in order to express our idea of a happy life.
HINTS:
I believe that whatever be a man’s business or profession in life, he should have a worthy goal. He must feel that what he is doing is worth doing. He should also feel that the way he is doing it, is the best way he can do it. In other words, he should recognize the worth of what he is doing and adopt the best means and then work hard to do it. His means as well as ends should be good. He should plan carefully and work patiently.
Another important rule is to keep away from those activities which are anti-social. A man should not forget his social, domestic, personal and spiritual responsibilities. If even then things go wrong he should have trust in God and hope for the best. Faith in his work, in his own ability and in God is important.
Another way of ensuring a happy life, is by being friendly, fair, honest, helpful and being sympathetic to others. A man who is in the habit of back biting will soon be in trouble and hot waters. He will make enemies through his bad habits and ill nature. It is therefore necessary for a man to learn top adapt himself to new situations, use tact in dealing with people, and be willing to com[promise whenever necessary, to achieve a noble aim.
A happy life, for me, means keeping my wants limited and not desiring all things other people have. One should go on in being true to one’s own self , living hopefully, taking the good with the bad. That is the way to lead a happy life.
To sum up, blameless personal conduct, strict moral principles and honest pursuit of spiritual goals – these alone can enable us to achieve a happy life.
From time immemorial, communication among people has played a vital role in developing civilization. The mode has changed recording improvements butte ultimate goal has remained the same. The more the advancements the faster the development. Now, the world has shrunk to an unimaginable level. Further man is a social animal. He always had the urge to know things. He has cherished his ambition “To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield”.
Invention of printing helped mankind in early days to store what he saw. One of the benefits that printing gave man was “newspaper”. The very word ‘news’ denotes North East West South. A newspaper contains information about the various happenings from every nook and corner. Books ebooks periodicals, magazines have also come into being.
Newspapers have occupied an important place in the lives of men. Every one is eager to know what has happened on the previous daythroughout the world. Newspapers satisfy the news hungry populationproviding various facts and figures I detail. In addition to the news on world politics and current events the newspapers provide news on sports, science inventions, art and cultural affairs.
Newspapers also carry important advertisements. The unemployed who seek job go through the newspapers daily for advertisements and announcements given by various firms. The public can also write in newspapers expressing their opinions on various aspects of the society. Newspapers make people knowledgeable and keep them aware of the cay to day problems.
Nowadays gathering information at shorter periods and getting to know about the various happenings immediately has become the keyword. The television serves for this purpose. It is clear that things seen are better remembered that things heard or read. People watch various programmes (recorded) that are telecasted on the television. Nowadays direct telecast of programmes live on the air has become a way of our life. It is possible to conveniently relax in a rocking chair and watch the various programmes and happenings around the world not in the century old black and white but in the latest MPEG4 technology. Also science and technology has brought us portable small size televisions and televisions in our mobile phones and laptops. We can have newspapers wherever we go. They are light weighted and handy. Although televisions have now become portable and handy they are not suitable to newspapers for cost and availability reasons. Portable televisions and televisions in mobile or laptop does not come at an affordable cost top a common man and hence is a rarity.
Newspapers are eco friendly and bio degradable. We should not become an addict of sitting and watching television always as they may create eye fatigue. Youngsters must take care to avoid watching unwanted programmes.
Advancement in science and technology has opened many vistas for our development. But we should see that these advancements set healthier trends in the growth of our future generations – the student community in particular. Therefore in my opinion newspapers are the best and most popular mass media
