Type:
The apache Indians have very stylized traditions and rituals. Many of these have been same since then. There are two types of apache Indians tribes, they are: Formal and Informal apache Indian tribes.Formal traditions are referred to as rituals or dances.Informal traditions are called as the ceremonies. Both formal and infromal are got to communicate with the spirit. In rite-of-passage ceremonies, such as the sundown ritual for women, apache dancers, including the persons who are being honored, dance for fibe days almost non-stop.In ceremonies, such as asking the spirit for rain or for thanking the spirit for good harvest, members of the tribe would dance forom sundown untill the moon was at its highest peak, that is mid night.
Identification:
Apache dancers are major part of the rituals. These dancers wear ankle wraps along with the bells when they are performing the ritual dances. These wraps are made up of leather.Sometimes, in addition to the ankle wraps the dancers will also wear the elbow, knee wraps also. The jingling of the bells is said to awaken the spirits and prepare them for communication. Many of the tribal leaders wear the ornate headdresess during the traditional ceremonies.Although many tribes perform at the fire and also when two or more gather also they perform dances

Significance:
The Apache tribes dont have significant ordered form of the religion. The only form of worship is through rituals.During these rituals, the Apaches worship the spirits of Apaches who have passed away. These rituals are said to still wandering the tribal lands. These rituals oftenly dont use many words, often members of the tribe will simply chant. This is said to be peace for the tribe, and it is also said to please the spirit.
Misconceptions:
Many of the people call the tribal tradition to be serious all the time this is not true, tribals played lot of games. Some of these games taught lessons and the remaining are for fun.One popular night-game is kah, this is played like hide and seek. While one team is singing songs then the other team hides the bone in mocassin that is partially putting the bont in buried ground,if the singing team finds the bone then that team gets a point then this process continues and after four or five hours the team with most points is counted by sticks and wins the game.
The arts of the tribes is shown below.
Terrorism can be defined as the means used by some desperate elements to express their protest or bargain for their needs. A fear and panic is created in the mind of public. It does not follow any predictable sequence or time element or even the place of occurrence. In its recent origin, it could be traced to Khalid episode when the terrorists had hijacked a plane and held the hostages on gun point to get their demand fulfilled. But now terrorism has become an international phenomenon. Terrorists in fact have no defined ideology. The reasons of terrorism can be social political dissatisfaction. But now terrorism has reached the stage of frenzy. Some political powers brainwash the dissatisfied elements and cause violence, bloodshed and destruction in the country. These people do not realize that killing innocent people will not bring solution to the problem. The powerful feelings of democracy and freedom throughout the world have shown at large power does not lie in the barrel of the gun. It lies in the hearts and minds of people. Terrorism can not be curbed simply by the reactionary violence that is followed by the police. The root cause of terrorism should be identified. Efforts should be made to eliminate al the inequality of income, unemployment etc. so that young people many not be drawn towards it. Rich and healthy entertainment should be fed to the masses. An international forum should be formed to solve this grievous problem so that man could become more human than animal.
How to fight terrorism
Our deadly weapon against terrorism is our eyes. Let us join hands in the fight against terrorism. Be alert and keep your eyes open for any unidentifiable, unclaimed objects, for suspicious –looking strangers and sign of unusual activity.
If we see anything amiss, we should approach the nearest policeman, polices station or contact the nearest gypsy. If we are in city or town we can dial phone.
Our alertness can prevent a disaster striking a big blow against terrorism. We can also earn a reward of lakhs rupees.
In a democratic country, it is the sympathy and cooperation of the general public which is the most important factor. An alert, watchful public is a strong deterrent to anti-national and anti-social activities.
We must fight united against terrorism. This is our social and moral duty also. Our unity, cooperation and love are the greatest safety against anti- national elements. We should co-operate each other without paying any attention towards casts, religion or province.
St. Augustine once said that, “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page”. But backpacking to India is like glimpsing the entire book owing to its varied landscape. Much of the beauty of India is outside of the cities, in the Himalayan panorama, snow filled Kashmir and in the green covered ranges of south. Exploring the long ranges of Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats and Himalayas is a blue moon dream of backpackers who look for a hike full of adventures and awesome experiences. Faces of India means you could spend months travelling and still barely scratch the surface of what the country is still to offer. Indian mountains are just like that! The English and Australian students often backpack through India during their ‘gap year’ between secondary school and college. Americans often travel between graduating from college and entering the workforce.
Adventure travel is not limited to any particular season. In the Himalayas, for the summers, parasailing would probably be the best option, while in the rainy season trekking and hiking through the hill would be ideal. A hiker backpacker needs, at a minimum, an ice axe whenever snow and ice is present, and the knowledge of how to use it. One must also have the knowledge of how to kick or chop steps in hard snow and how to self arrest with the axe. A successful year round backpacker must be skilled in using snowshoes and ice axe. Snowshoes are necessary for much of the winter season. The snow packs generally harden from late winter through early summers and so snowshoes are no longer required then, but the ice axe and sturdy boots continue to be a requirement. A lot of expertise is needed to glissade through the slopes using ice axe as a rudder. Most backpackers however anticipate for Sherpa setting up camp. Clubs have formed to coordinate group activities for backpackers including hot-air balloon rides, paragliding Yoga and other spiritual exposures are added ecstasy to backpackers. The spicy gardens and tribal houses of the ranges in Kerala offer an inert world. The small falls and natural sceneries are of bliss to the eyes.
However, it is in the interest of the backpackers to not to spoil their trip by crossing borders and harvesting unnecessary apprehension in this regard. As India a huge nation cannot afford for cent percent security on cross border terrorisms and outfits that everyone is aware of. Nations and respective embassies are providing guidelines on these lines which the backpackers need to consider therein.
Living on a shoestring is always a challenge, especially in India, where pinching pennies means crummy hotels, suspect food and grueling travel. But the few who brave it are rewarded with an up-close-and-personal view of India--one that even if they wanted to, they probably couldn't forget. One of the main drawbacks of backpacking in India (besides pinching pennies), is the camaraderie. But backpackers need not be shortchanged on this experience. Many use cash saved on lodging to splurge on adventures. On the whole India hiking is a great way to see a country on the budget.
21st September in the 21st Century, fondly known as International Peace Day !!!
On September 7, 2001, a new resolution was passed by the United Nations General Assembly to give the Day of Peace a fixed date and declare it as a global ceasefire day. That day was set to be September 21st. Just four days later on September 11, 2001, the World Trade Centers were attacked and Peace Days came and went without any ceasefires.
To commemorate this day I first of all Greet you on this occassion.
Coming back to Peace, surely there must be few things ringing in your mind as to what is the significance of following such days, when
- we cannot read the newspaper on a single day, without the news of violence in it.
- the rest of the world is plagued by other problems such as poverty, health related problems etc.
- we have inter and intra country wars for issues that are beyond reach of the common man.
- the youth of the country is devoid of jobs and is struck by recession.
- many innocent lives are taken away by a certain terrorist attack in some or the other part of the country.
World peace is now becoming day by day a major concern for all political leaders and governments due to its growing importance over other alarming factors such as climate change; it is, as it seems, useless to fight climatic changes and its consequences when war and racism prevails everywhere and hundreds of people are dying due to political instability, war and racism, which all form part of the factors acting against world peace. It is futile having a good temperate climate when terrorism, rioting and discrimination are striking in every corner of the globe and thousands of people are being killed. So, the great importance of world peace cannot be stressed enough.
So, it is my earnest request to not only observe peace day on 21st of September each year, but to take necessary steps which would promote Peace within an Individual, City, the Nation and the World.
Happy International Peace Day !!! :)
