Once British engineer visited India, the country of Sadhus and snakes. After visiting some important cities, he started for Mumbai, the Gateway of India. When he arrived at the Victoria terminus station, he was amazed at the architecture of the builder. He asked man.” Ye Kaun Banaya”? (Who built it?). Then a gentleman replied,” Maloom Nahin Sahib”. The engineer took out his diary and he wrote in it beautiful words.” The wonderful building of Victoria Terminus was built by an architect: Mr. Maloom Nahin Sahib” He then took its photograph from various angle. When he arrived at Flora Fountain, he was surprised to see the huge building. Again he asked a man, the answer was the same,” Maloom Nahin Sahib.” He thought that the same engineer has built this building too. He thought that the same engineer has built this building this building too. He made up his mind to meet the architect “Mr. Maloom Nahin Sahib” to gain some knowledge of the architecture of these buildings.
One day when the engineer was shopping, he saw a tall, good looking man coming out of a shop. He asked the shopkeeper,” Who Kaun Hai?” The answer was,” Maloom Nahin Sahib”. He thought the person was the same architect whom be desired to meet. He ran to meet him but in vain. Before he reached the place, the man had disappeared.
The next day. When he was passing though Marine Drive, there was a large funeral procession. He called a man and asked.” O Kaun Mara” The answer as it is. “Maloom Nahin Sahib”. He was shocked to know that his great wish to meet architecture remained unfulfilled. He took his hat and bade good bye to Mr. Maloom Nahin Sahib.

Do you guide your thoughts or are you guided by them? The power of thought is certainly the greatest of all the faculties with which human beings are endowed. A wise man rightly said: " Today we are where our thoughts have led us, and tomorrow we will be where we focus our thoughts."
What is important and interesting to know is that it takes more energy to think negatively than to think positively. A man who feels inferior will gradually attain a similar attitude towards life. Worse yet, your negative thoughts could have an adverse effect on others. If you constantly treat your child like a little monster, then rest assured he will do everything to satisfy your thoughts. Even if one hasn’t been treated well in their youth, it’s not a valid reason to treat other’s the same way. Of course the opposite is also equally true. Love your child and encourage them to be inquisitive and you will be blessed with a compassionate thinking child.
Everything that exists today was originally a thought. Whatever you do, is the result of a positive or negative thought. It's better to learn to control your thoughts than be controlled by it. Positive thoughts help the body produce astonishing energy that enables the body, mind and spirit to work in perfect harmony.
We are constantly having internal conversations within ourselves everyday. How much of those thoughts are constructive? A little introspection will tell you whether your thoughts are helping you move closer to your goals or taking you further away. If your thoughts inspire you, then you may have already mastered the art of self motivation. However, if your thoughts aren’t exactly helping you, then there’s no need to worry. You are like the most of us and your thoughts can still be programmed to direct you in the right direction.
It is true that our thoughts often come from our past experiences. As a child, there might be incidents over which some of us had no control and they continue to influence our thought process. But as an adult we have a choice to let ourselves languish in the past or to take control of our thoughts and sail into the future with confidence. If you develop a habit of positive thinking, the challenges that life tosses at you become much easier to face.
Anyway, there IS nothing special about my winters. actually. Nothing more than being in a quilt, with a blower on... and drinking some EXTRA HOT coffee, or tea!
Bangladesh is a fertile, flat country to east of west Bengal. Before partition in 1947, it was called east Bengal. After Partition, it was called East Pakistan. When it became independent from Pakistan in 1971, it changed its name to Bangladesh. Bangladesh means `Land of the Bengalis.’ Like the people of west Bengal, Bangladesh speak Bangla. Most of them are Muslims but there are also quite a few Hindus.
The river Ganga and the river Brahmaputra meet in Bangladesh. Both are enormous rivers. They spread out to form a delta of many smaller rivers before they meet the sea. This means that there are rivers all over country. The rivers bring very good soil to the fields so people can grow a lot of rice. They also bring fish-and most Bengalis love eats to fish! Sadly the rivers sometimes flood. In 1998, millions of people lost their homes because of floods. Many people became ill because floods spread disease. Another danger comes from cyclones. The land near the sea is low and flat, so tidal waves from the sea can sweep away homes, animals and people.
Bangla talk
Bangladesh is a very dense population, so it is crowded and many people are poor. Less than half of the people can read and write. The average life of Bangladeshis is 56 years-shorter than India.
There are lots of rivers where we live. One of our main crops is jute because it needs lots of water. The stalks of jute plants are stringy, so they are made into mats and rope. Then they are exported to other countries. My father used to earn good money in the jute fields. The trouble is that nowadays many mats and ropes are made of plastic. This means that other countries don’t buy so much jute-and he doesn’t get so much work. This is a work of him on a good day, when he has work. He’s soaking jute stalks in the river.
My mother used to stay at home all day, but last year she got job too. There is a work of her making a basket out of jute. The baskets are exported to foreign countries.
I used to go to school, but now I have to go to work, like my parents. School is free, but we didn’t have enough money too pay for the books and uniform. I was really sorry to leave school as I was good at my studies-especially science. I wanted to be a science teacher, but I cannot now. I will work for a daily wage like my father. At the moment it is quite easy to get work. The landowners want children like me to work for them because they don’t have to pay us as much as grown-ups.
