He is not denied doctorate or anything. There are some procedure and formality that need to be followed even in case of celebrity. There was some nationality/ procedural issue which does not mean that Anand's merit/ achievements are not recognized.

I think there is nothing wrong in having dual citizen ship.Many of the politicians who are good for nothing are having dual citizen ships.
After making all arrangements and calling off the function is not the right way to treat a person.If they are so much particular about the so called procedures and rules, everything should be discussed before hand.
The matter of dual citizenship should have been previously discussed if it is aganist rules...inviting a person and questioning on his citizenship then is really very bad..
