Dear Friends,

Now UP CM wants to build Ambedkar Corridor in Lucknow.

It will have shopping complexes, parks, multiplexes and hotels.

The Haider Canal that flows through the land on which the corridor is proposed, will be shifted further in to make way for the construction. This land is defined as GREEN BELT.

To make the way for her ambitious project , existing office of the director general of police, some private bungalows and a portion of the government residential colony would also have to be demolished.

Now what about the FUNDS??

You can estimate how much FUND is required for such a huge project.

It is ridiculouse that She is not having funds for providing Rights To Education to the children.

Please comment and discuss this issue.

Let us see how much funds are required for Education. The central government is collecting education cess @ 3% on all taxes. So, the central government should provide funds. The Right to Education must be implemented and the center/ state governments should sort out problems amicably. The matter of Ambedkar Corridor is seperate and need not be linked to this.

I don't think funds are the constraints to spread the light of education. It is rather the will that is missing. Our politicians have a vested interest in keeping the masses in the darkness of illiteracy. As for the corridor project,I have no comments to make at the moment.
Leaders are forgetting that today children are tomorrows citizens.

Politicians have money for building there statues and corridors, and not for educating the children!!!!

Thanks 'n' Regards,
Deepti.
It is correct they care about only their children only and they have money for those when it comes to spend for children or for any relief fund they say that they don't have any

@Gulshan ..
I can't understand how the matter of Corridor is separate.

At one end CM is telling no funds for RTE while other she is ready to spend huge amount on Corridor project, which is not required at all in Lucknow.

The central and State governments are to share the financial burden for implementing the Act in the ratio of 55:45, and the Finance Commission has given Rs.25,000 crore to the States.

But still she is not ready to accept it.

Corridor project is already sanction and in progress. Funds cannot be transferred from that. I agree that RTE must be implemented. The state Govt. must find way and means to implement RTE.

The budget of a center and state government provides for expenses on many items. some of these are capital nature that bring in existence permanent infrastructure. Others are revenue. Each item has its own importance. while we provide funds for a particular purpose, we cannot relate it to other item. To illustrate further, if we want to spend on old age pensions, the expenses can not be related to defence expenditure. Here the question is of education. Center as well as state have to find means to provide necessary finance. This need not be related to expenses on other items.

Mayawati is just wasting her time and peoples' money.People don't remember you by seeing your statues,They only remember your good work done for people.Statues keep eroding day by day but, not the good people done by her.
So, my only advice to Mayawati ,please concentrate on upliftment of people. :)
i do agree with bhanu
