    Money is root cause for all crimes, that does not see cast or religion but a person's consciousness is responsible for his/her behavior. There are many such cases where government employees on higher posts have been caught doing this for enemy nations. This was part of the system during cold war when US and USSR used to engage employees of each other to work as double agents.

    Of course we have to take individual cases instead of generalising , however, statistics show something else that the common perception does have some validity which cannot be overlooked ! I am sure that there are valid reasons for such a stste of affirs as well mainly poverty and rigid religious control over individuals..

    It is depends on individual case. In present case spy is doing for money. But Afjal Guru was not done all thing for money.

    That is something one has to figure out...Apparently many of the trusted men got converted after a while so in the end it becomes one and the same ...

    I agree. Every intelligence agency works on basis of 'source' or 'agents', who are recruited from the target organization. So if you wish to collect intelligence from a church, you will create 'source' in church itself and recruit some church priest or employee as agent and pay him according to information.
