Before popularity of internet, there were pornographic books on foot paths which children would buy and keep inside their text books. Now internet has replaced porn paper books. There is some curiosity in children about sex. Proper sex education is the remedy.

This is becoming problem with new generation.. They are taking more interest in this kind of things because of Internet. Better parent keep eye on their kids if they are using internet at home or somewhere else.

Yes,, every kid in stages of puberty will have curiosity and will try to satisfy it in whatever ways and means they are able to. At this stage if they are provided with proper sex education, not just the textbook variety, but an interactive one where the kids are encouraged to ask questions and get proper answers, they will understand what exactly it is all about. If not, then now internet is the best and easily accessible option the children have. What they don't understand is that the information and content related to sex on the internet is usually not reliable!

They have a moral science class in schools conducted once a week and this subject is touched upon in a vague manner with the teacher (often a guest teacher from a different school, a priest ? or an educationist) looking quite uncomfortable and the children more so...absolutely no interaction and the attitude is to finish with it quickly...

I don't think educating the children about sex will help. If the parents put their children away from this, then it will be helpful. Parents have to come in action.

There are some channels which are not good. TV may spoil kids in this case. So, parents should be careful, when they watch some nudity.

True! The teachers or counselers who are expected to teach the subject are themselves so obviously uncomfortable and hesitant that the message that is passed to the children is quite negative and unassertive. Also the many questions that the children have are not satisfied and hence they turn to other sources to find information, which is either not trustworthy or is presented in such a manner that the child ends up losing his self-esteem and confidence.

This kind of attitude is exactly what has lead to increase in cases of rapes, molesting etc. Maintaining a healthy attitude towards sex and educating children about it on time is what is the most important necessity at this juncture. Keeping something away from children will make them more encouraged to seek it in other ways and sources.

Thats what I too feel, the moment you restrict something it is but natural for the children to become curious and try to get knowledge through other means. In fact parents have a major role to play in making their children develop a healthy and natural attitude towards sex related issues..
