Chilling out has taken on a new meaning. Something that goes hand-in-hand with a tall glass, some ice cubes and a visit to the “monk!” and this monk has nothing to do with meditation. City’s youth love their Old Monk, whisky, vodka or Bacardi! Nothing seems complete without tippling over more than a couple of drinks and staggering home in a beatific stupor. The most common refrain is that drinking alcohol helps one relax and unwind. While most realise the futility of this relaxation, a recent study put things into perspective. The study showed that instead of relaxation and unwinding, alcohol causes more tension and stress as it lowers cortisol levels — the body’s reaction to stress.

This is really a very important issue to be known by drunkers who think their tension is reduced by drinking.
Over drinking can definitely topple. But drinking in moderation is good for health and relaxes. This is also experience of noted intellectual and author Khushwant Singh now more than ninety five years old.

I agree with Mr. Ajmani. The last line is not completely true but it depends on the intake quantity. If it is taken to enjoy in permissible limits and in a decent way, it makes you feel happy and that's the reason you tend to have it occasionally.
