Sri Sri Ravi Shankar 'persuades' Ramdev to break nine day fast
Yoga guru Ramdev on Sunday broke his nine-day-old fast even as doctors said he will be discharged from hospital in two-three days though his condition is "stable".

Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who met the 46-year-old yoga exponent for the third day at a Dehradun hospital, said, "Ramdev has broken his fast by taking juice. He ended the fast in the presence of various religious and spiritual leaders".

Ramdev, who went on his hunger strike to protest against corruption and black money issues, was admitted to the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences here on Friday after his condition deteriorated at his Patanjali Yogapeeth ashram in Haridwar.

This is today's happiest news. Baba Ramdev's contribution in Yoga is remarkable. It is definitely not sound to undertake fast unto death for removing corruption. Govt. could talk with Hazare because his demand is specific viz. draft and enact lok pal bill. Baba Ramdev's demands are more difficult to accept.

Baba Ramdev can do a lot by using Yoga not only for building health but also for raising character of people. Corruption is deep rooted and almost everyone is corrupt. Hence if you fight the corrupt, you fight everyone. Even those who gather under banner of Hazare and Ramdev are not decisely honest. Who does not know that film stars insist on getting part of their remuneration in cash instead of cheque with a view to save on income tax and thereby generate black money. The same corrupt persons generating black money gather under banner of Hazare.

Ramdev is welcome to fight against corruption. But undertaking suicidal acts like fast are good neither for him, nor for his disciples nor for nation.

As almost 98% of citizens are corrupt and Government also is manned by these, Government cannot curb corruption sioley by administrative measure. This is really a crisis and all should work for its eradication. People need raise their character. So far all fight against corruption is misconceived. People fight against corruption when they have to bribe. But the same people do not mind receiveing bribe, adulterating food, evading tax, manipulating records and transaction when this suits them.

There should be a mass campaign for self improvement. If most people resolve and act neither to do wromg nor accept wrong, corruption may be minimized.

According to the latest news Baba Ramdev has ended his fast and has finally taken some juice and he will be under the medical supervision for two to three days...
Baba Ramdev has ended fast but will continue agitation till achievement of goal. His fight is against corruption and for bringing back money in Swiss banks. His demands are okay. The government should seriously consider this and do whatever is possible. Ultimately, only government and parliament can deliver. Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare are just citizens of India and they should not attempt to exercise an authority more than Constitution provides. The constitution recognized 'citizen' or 'Indian national' and gives some rights and duties to all citizens. There is no such entity as 'civil society' in constitution and it is time Anna Hazare and others confine to their limits.

He will visita local hospital to see one of his lady devotees, who got serious injury in police action and is undergoing treatment. Baba will also hold a press conference.
