I am on the same page of thought. But we should go for a thorough checking and keep only the law abiding ones who can contribute to our economy.

Thinking about the issue on humanitarian grounds, I too agree. However, it is known and proven fact that WB has more than 40 lakhs of Bangladeshis living there illegally while the number of these people is even higher in the state of Assam. Even if they are living for many years in these states, what is worth giving a thought is that - why in the first place did these people to India when there is no anarchy in their own country like Syria or Afghanistan? Why are these people coming in droves to India? from many sources, it is said that these people are actually being paid to enter India illegally solely with the purpose of skewing the population ratios. Also, these people do not really add value to our culture, do not pay taxes, do not do anything worthwhile so why should they be allowed to take away rightful livelihood and living spaces that belong to Indians?

Fact you given here is some what true. It is not easy to push back them to Bangladesh. They are living here for 4 decades. They have some document to prove citizen of India but these are issued after 25 March 1972. But if government allowed them to stay here it will be regular practice for illegal immigrants.

But Congress, leftists and all their allies who only had power and still some remain by appeasing Muslims and opposing NRC is once again for the sake of appeasing these so-called minorities, even if they happen to Bangladeshis and Rohingyas!
Mamata and all other opposition parties are doing only politics. These illegal immigrants come to India in 1971. In 1985 Rajeev Gandhi done agreement with Assam leaders to trace illegal immigrants and push back them. If Rajeev Gandhi and subsequent government focus on this issue than country have not any problem. But at present it is very hard work to push back these immigrants.
I doubt if the congress government really tried hard to get rid of illegal immigrants after Indira as they constituted their vote bank. In 1998, when Maharashtra was ruled by Shivsena CM Manohar Joshi, there were several attempts to push illegal Bangladeshis living in Mumbai but were thwarted by the leftists ruling WB. In one incident on 23 July 1998, the 8029 DN Howrah-Kurla Express which was carrying 34 illegal Bangladeshis escorted by 14 policemen of Maharashtra, was stopped at Uluberia, 65 km from Kolkata, by a mob of 9000 who snatched away the 34 prisoners and later on set them free. The police tried firing rounds but were no match for the thousands of the goons. The MH police were later rescued by WB police. The prisoners were being escorted on the orders of Bombay High Court to be deported to Bangladesh in the border town of Bongaon. This mob was spearheaded by Rabin Ghosh, a Forward Bloc MLA representing Uluberia, who was a part of the WB leftist government.
The next day, same thing happened again. As the Kurla Express entered Kharagpur station, the West Bengal Police intervened. They asked their counterparts from Maharashtra to quietly hand over the 38 prisoners before another mob decided on "direct action."
Later on , many ugly allegations and angry discussed happened with the WB government claiming that the Bangladeshis were not Bangladeshis but Muslims from WB which was actually not the case. What is significant in this is that the leftists were trying hard to secure their Muslim vote bank, no matter based on illegal immigrants but were trying to score a point against the BJP government at the centre and Shivsena in Maharashtra as Shivsena was really driving a hard campaign to rid the country of illegal immigrants who were the biggest troublemakers. Now Mamata is doing the same thing what her leftist predecessors has done and once again bringing her own state and the country closer to chaos.
It is well known fact that leftist always favor peoples other than Hinuds. At present all opposition party playing role of leftist. They all know that these people may be cause of problem in future. At present they are working on one agenda oppose BJP and Modi. today is question Bangladeshi peoples and in future we will see problem of Lohngiya Muslim of Mayamar.

Most of them are law abiding, They have Adar Card Voter card, Ration card, but got these after 25 March 1972.
Guys, I was posted at Kolkata in 1999 as regional manager of Easten India and visited all states including Assam, and the 7 sister States. You would be surprised to note that even then the entire area was bubbling with Bangladeshis courtesy our own security forces who allowed them to enter for a fee. The current situation is that eastern India has many districts which are majority population of Bangladeshi people and Manta is right when she says that the situation is fit for a civil war in current scenario. She counts on their votes and support for her survival.

I never visit North East. You know much better than me. I am writing what I am Reading. It is real problem that this illegal migration is disturbing population balance of these states. Mamta wants that these people never push back because these are her vote bank. It is not acceptable to native of these states.
In fact these immigrants are spilling over to other places as well. We have a settlement of Bangladeshis here in Mangalore and most of them work in shops and restaurants and are by themselves. According to one of my relatives who runs a eatery , they are very hard working and docile. Apparently there was a raid for illegal immigrants and my relative shielded a few who work for him by paying so e bribe..it is very difficult to take a firm stand when they are not causing any trouble and a couple of them are Hindus .
Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Not all of them are causing trouble, they might be docile and hard workers in other places, but in Assam, WB they are responsible for a lot of civil strife, rapes on women, and other sorts of crimes. Also their docility does not still negate their illegal status, if it had been the other way round, Hindus in their country, would they have been guaranteed the exact safe haven that these people get when they are in India? Even a peaceful country like Sri Lanka whom we have helped a lot over decades loses no time in arresting and jailing our fisherfolk who frequently cross over their waters unintentionally. We are already grunting under the weight of overpopulation, do we really need the burden of such people now?
