EC is not toothless or incompetent. He is very clear about his job responsibilities. The fault lies with the AAP who blame EVMs are faulty.

I am not blaming simply there is ample evidence of EVMs tampering across India in recent past which is available even in public domain only if you wish to see. In fact, Indian EVMs were already tempered by technical experts in the past. If this is can be done, isn't its biggest scam of independent India, only power voter has will be snatched from him. Even if there is a small iota of doubt about EVMs it has to be addressed, after all its about Democracy. Sorry to say EC is indulging only in hoodwinking the public, not answering questions that various people are raising. They simply issue a statement stating EVMs are tamper-proof.

It is in our own interest to know all sides of the issue. .

Dear Usha, would EC say their EVMs are hackable or tampered with, Of course, they will defend EVMs but never answer why EVMs tampered in recently concluded polls when EVMs were voting only to one party. No system is full-proof, anything which is done by man can also be undone, never think things won't be hacked or tampered, the largest financial institution like JP Morgan who built strongest firewalls possible, who spend millions of dollars on security was hacked recently. You are underestimating the power of political parties and politicians, they can go to any extent to win elections, If they can hijack ED, IT, CBI, RBI, Judiciary, Educational institutions, can't they hijack EC who're just few bunch of old people looking for post-retirements benefits and make a fool out of them. Do you know who has given a task of EVM maintenance and servicing job? So in effect none of our previous and present elections and the results have been fair . Each political party has been probably having their own experts, hacking the machinery to their advantage..so in a way it is all fair !

Partly true, but it's not fair as a concerned citizen and voter whichever party be it UPA/NDA are resorting to these malpractices we must protest, and save democracy or else we will be ruled by rogues and criminals. This time it's rampant which is threatening Democracy, within few months of elections we saw around 10 to 15 instances of EVM tampering cases, never in the history of voting such thing happened, they were isolated cases in the past, not so many rigging cases like it's happening today , and one more thing is large scale rigging is not possible but yes wherever current dispensation feels they're weak they're using tempered EVM. The main reason for this is massive defeats NDA saw in Bihar, Delhi and Demonetisation which had potential to finish NDA. They started this dirty game of rigging. They realized without rigging they will not win elections. So, from post-demonetisation, it started with Chandigarh local body elections, UP elections to recent Delhi MCD elections. One common factor in all these elections post-demonetisation is EC was using same tampered Gen 1 EVMs without VVPATs. 

Anyhow, in the wake of several political parties questioning whether the EVMs are tamper proof EC plans to introduce advanced version of EVM ahead of the 2019 general elections

@ Venkat S N The link provided by you is for the year 2010 which clearly shows that UPA was the target of this mal practice. However , where is the proof for any claim made about EVM tampering that has been done recently. The 10-15 cases were the ones that have been detected which shows that the EC is keeping a sharp eye  ..your single minded aim seems to be targeting NDA and it's success in the recent elections  since I have hardly seen you taking an active part in any other discussion here ..

Even if it is possible to hack EVMs that does not mean it can not be used. Earlier the booths were captured or ballots were taken away and stamped and stuffed into boxes. But ballot paors were continued to be used. Today the EVMs are modern, foolproof and fast to process. They should be used and are to be used with paper trail. Those opposing it's usecare simply notcable to accept that they have Ben rejected by the voters. That is the truth. Accept it and improve your party image. No point in blaming EVMs and becoming the laughing butt.
